It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Just tried downloading Enclave using getright:

1. Start Downloading with Firefox
2. Copy and paste download link into getright
3. Get 403 Forbidden error.

Is there a workaround? The GOG downloader didn't work that well last time I tried it...

You can only download once from the download link, so Firefox would have "used" up that one time.

You should be able to use it if you use the link normally, they are in this format:
https://www.gog.com/en/download/game/betrayal_at_krondor/0

You should also disable any settings to accelerate it by opening multiple connections as that can cause it to fail to download too. This also means you can't pause/resume the download.

So there is no reason to use GetRight. ;)

Pretty much >.<

I have sent in a support request because I've had an idea for a distributed downloader that should be secure, so I asked if I would be allowed to build it (I'd need an API writing for it by them).

Nope, doesn't work. I used to be able to copy an active firefox download link before though....

I used to be able to resume by changing the URL.

I think he meant "No reason to use GetRight for GOG" because you can't resume downloads.

I use DownThemAll on the shelf view and it works. It might be that the server requires the referrer..?

Yes, and I used to be able to resume downloads with Getright. They must have instituted the "1 download per link" policy in the last few months. Or maybe you're right about the referral...

Resuming has never worked for me and I've been here 3 months so it's possible it was a recent addition but to me, that's the way it has always been :)
Any browser plugin that pushes the file to the download manager directly should work. It's been a while since I used GetRight, but any given download manager should work OK with GOG. I currently use Free Download Manager.

In order to resume you will need to feed in a new source URL (the method will vary slightly depending on the download manager, but initiating a download confirmation window and then copying the URL without starting the download should be sufficient). The GOG downloader is the only one that can resume without feeding in a new source URL.
Getright uses multiple connections doesn't it? Pretty certain GOG doesn't support that

Hmm, suppose its a testament to the quality of my ISP that I literally can't remember the last time I used a download manager program (other than the gog downloader)

Multiple connections do work with GOG, but you can only make a few per source URL.

Using a download manager isn't just about being able to resume interrupted downloads, it's also about potentially increasing download speed through multiple connections. How effective this is greatly depends on the website. Many sites cap a transfer to a particular speed, rather than just letting you download as fast as your connection allows, so having multiple connections for such sites effectively multiplies this cap bringing you closer to your real maximum download speed.

I have DTA set to use one connection and downloading from GOG consistently saturates my download (2MB/s) so I don't think they cap it at all. It might be slower at the moment due to the sale though.
