Embark on the finest of adventures!

Little Big Adventure and Little Big Adventure 2, a pair of stunning classics set in a fantastic world on a brink of a calamity that can only be saved by Twinsen--a prophet, a savior, and one of the most memorable characters from the history of gaming, are available 60% off. However, if you get them both, the discount goes up to 70%! That's as little as $1.79 for each of those unforgettable classics, for the next 24 hours!

The Little Big Adventure series remains the pinnacle of storytelling to this day. Back in the 90s the magicians at Adeline Software were able to create a genre-transcending masterpiece, that pulled you in for long hours and constantly surprised gamers with fresh and daring ideas. The story leads the plucky hero, Twinsen, through a world of wonder and beauty agitated only by the shadow of impending doom. In LBA 1 you will try to stop the evil Dr.Funfrock from enslaving your world, and in LBA 2 you'll have to save the planet from total annihilation plotted by an alien race. Both games features state-of-the-art animation, that made both the funny and disturbing moments feel fantastical and yet alarmingly real. With plenty of puzzle-solving, challenging combat, unforgettable characters, and, above all, an engaging story, the series has instantly become a benchmark for imaginative game design and remains a strong influence for generations of devs and gamers alike.

If you value unrestrained imagination and love to lose yourself in a gripping story, grab both Little Big Adventure games--for as little as $3.58! The offer lasts until Tuesday, August 26, at 9:59AM GMT.

HypersomniacLive: Looks like it's time to get these off my wishlist! :D

mrking58: [...]

BTW GOG can you please add the soundtrack to the extras list. I know you can get it if you go into the installer but I think most people just want to download it

HypersomniacLive: They can't as the OSTs are still sold by Philippe Vachey - see here for more details.
damn I guess I will have to wait to join amazon prime again if there is anything there that isn't on the installer
Nice promo. Both game deserved to be played :)
Someone, anyone, needs to hold back! I haven't played them yet, but just because I haven't heard many people describe them as less than one of the best series ever, I'm grabbing the pack for a giveaway. :)
Nice! Purchased. :D

gandalf.nho: Never played one of these, how's the difficulty?
Definitely above average difficulty, and about twice as long as most adventure games.
The difficulty mainly comes from the fact that you can't save in the middle of a screen, every time you reload you'll start from the edge of the map. That makes sense for platforming sequences but in some of those you'll need some real patience. There was one particular scene in an underground temple that I had to try over and over many times. Combat is of moderate difficulty but if you get hit and go into perpetual hit recovery mode until you're dead, that can be a bit aggravating. On the bright side of things, this is exactly how you defeat your enemies as well: Hit them with the bouncy magic ball and then repeatedly hit them again and again before they recover until they pop and turn into cute little hearts for you to replenish your health bar.
Every time you run into a wall you'll bounce back and lose some health and since you can't control Twinsen while he's recovering, those situations can and will cost you your life.
The second game felt slightly longer and slightly easier to me but overall I 'd say both games are more or less in the same ballpark.

Anyway: Happy 20th anniversary Little Big Adventure, one of my top 3 favorite games of all time.

Someone tell me how to play the first one! In all of my years I've never been able to figure it out.

Check the manual:
Stances it's all about switching between stances, or 'behaviours' I think it's called ingame.
Normal (for interacting with objects and talking with people by pressing SPACE BAR)
Athletic (for running around and jumping - with SPACE BAR)
Aggressive (for punching and kicking people - with SPACE BAR)
Discreet (for sneaking and hinding - with SPACE BAR)
For example in the beginning when you are in your cell you switch to aggressive to knock out the guard that comes to your cell on a moving platform. You then walk onto the platform to get out of your cell the same way he got in. Then you alternate between normal mode, to pull switches and search containers, and athletic mode, to run from guards, to escape the prison. Once you are out, the game world opens up before you :)

Matewis: Challenging to very challenging but mostly fair I think. The combat takes a little getting used to. Melee is completely straightforward but ranged combat is significantly more tricky. You equip and throw a magic ball in the direction you are facing, and it can be a bit tricky to get Twinsen to face in the right direction, especially if you want to hit something relatively far away. There are several stances: Athletic, Aggresive, Sneaky, Normal (i think that's all of them) and each stance throws the ball differently, eg sneaky throws the ball at a steeper angle so that you throw over an obstacle.
It takes some practice to master the magic ball, but it gets easier later in the game when the ball becomes more powerful so that it takes fewer hits to kill an enemy.

Russonc: #2 was mostly fairish, with a couple of challanging parts. There are some cheats out there that can help you if you get stuck (My daughter had to cheat in a couple of spots...)
