Titan quest is also a maybe, it's too bad torchlight is only single player (i know there is a mod but I hear it's buggy). She also mentioned liking Worms, not a fav but might do.

From my earlier post Ghost master is an example of a game listed multiplayer but not.

jesskitten: Lord of the Rings Online? It's free (microtransactions model) and seems to have a larger female social/playerbase than most other MMOs.

Magicka? Minecraft is great too.
They said no MMOs, but DDO is the same way with male to female, I'd say it's 25% plus female, which is pretty high as games go.
Give 1NSANE a try! You can play in multiplayer mode and co-op together against the computer opponents. E.g. capture the flag with cars or trucks are great!
She decided on titan quest, magicka, and NWN. We already have minecraft. Let me know if you think of anything more.
We play Lego Star Wars. Good fun for two people.

OH! I had forgotten how much fun this was, I used to play co-op with my sister! If you go with this game, get Original Saga or Complete, they're much better.

Ditto Everquest 2. Mega female player base, there. Most players make extensive use of integrated voice chat, so anecdotally, about 40% of the players I met were female.

deavir: Any ideas?
Get Peggle Nights and World of Goo... Trust me, dueling with your girl in Peggle Nights is an awesome way to spend a beautiful night. :p
Will check out SW Lego. We really don't have time for MMO's, we are both grad students. World of Goo is great, we both have it but it's single player. Peggle she knew about but prefers tetris. 1nsane is a possibility, the screen shots didn't impress her but i might just buy it and let her watch to get the fever if it's fun. Was worried Killing Floor would be too much like LFD genre wise and since she doesn't like LFD wouldn't like it. You would think "play with GF" would be a whole genre of games. Love the advise so far. Titan quest seems like a winner.
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is played Diablo style, needs two people to work together (Croft shoots a grappling hook and the indian walks on the wire to get someplace and stuff like that) has a guy and a gal, but there's shooting, blowing things up and noise, so it's not for girls who don't like a little mayhem.

Archon can be played vs or coop against computers. It's chess like, easy to control but it's also a very simple gaming experience, with no story whatsoever on your coop except eliminate your (computer) opponent.

Not so sure she'll like either. Her games seem like she enjoys a little "cute" on them, just like my wife.

Tidalis is like tetris and has coop but the control scheme for the second player is harder, since using the mouse is the easiest.
