Hey guys, I figured I would pose this question to you, seeings this is a pretty good gaming community. Today I got my Gigabyte M8000Xtreme Gaming Mouse. I was curious if anyone had one? If they knew some decent DPI settings to try out? and if I could get a decent description of the macro's and how they work (the manual doesn't explain them all that well)?

Her'e's info on the mouse for those not familiar with it:

I think I've used one that looks similar, but I can't be sure.
Your link links to this thread. You may want to change it.
I have tried mice of all "speeds" and I find the best dpi setting for me, for general usage and games, to be 1800dpi. Even with mouse that reaches 5200dpi.

This is on a 1920x1200 24" monitor.

This pretty much.

However, the best advice I can give you is to experiment yourself. Everybody is slightly different when it comes to such settings, and it is simply a matter of finding what works for you. Personally speaking, I currently have my mouse set to swap between two modes, 1600 DPI and 800 DPI. I have found 1600 to be just right for practically any game, with the 800 DPI being for a few very situational settings.

These settings are for a 1680x1050 20" monitor, using a Steelseries Ikari Optical.

Wish I could help you with your other questions though, sorry.
Damn, I'm planning to get a decent gaming mouse for ages....

IMHO gotta be a Logi G5. Which I'd imagine should be going relatively cheap these days too.

Bloody phenomenal mouse for games, 3D modelling, ...umm.....clicking icons ;) you name it! Highly recommend

Thanks for the little bit of info, Right now I am using around 1600 on one of my settings, and with the push of a button under the scroll wheel it bumps to either 800, 3200, or 6030 dpi. The 6030 is just insane...But the 3200 is nice for sniping in some games (ie COD: MW)
The Microsoft Habu RAZR is pretty good.
