Now, this is going to vary greatly and a lot by body type and how you play games and who with. However it's a largely ignored accessory, your "chair" (or other item on which you plant your kiester [sp?]).

Here's my list:
PC: Office Master custom office chair (purchased at an auction for an office closure), this bad boy has upholstery that has held up to over 11 years of my butt's abuse. It's a fully adjustable chair and the one time something broke on it I called the manufacturer and the fellow informed me "lifetime warranty, shipping you the part for free". Not bad, not bad at all. If I were to replace it I would select slightly different options, but it rocks.

Console with wireless controllers: decent, leather couch, they're comfy no matter what you're wearing and if you spill your beer it's no big deal.

Console with wired controllers: I usually have to sit way closer and haven't found anything nice, I've tried those "rocker" chairs (no legs, they just sit on the floor) but they don't hold up to a big, adult. Bean bag chairs are cool and can scoot around easily, I've never found a nice one but I'm sure they exist. Papasan wicker chairs look like they'd be cooler than they are for gaming (still great for reading though).

What do you guys use? Anyone found a holy grail of gaming butt-comfort?
For my PC worshiping needs, I use an old somewhat comfy office chair that I've had since forever. I have a mind to replace it with something new and perhaps more comfortable, because with the current one I have to add two small pillows to add butt comfort and back fortification. Otherwise, it's too hard on my ass and doesn't give my back enough leverage. But it's a good chair, has the rocking option (always on, of course) and I can adjust the height. Pretty standard, and it was quite cheap back then, but it's years are showing, as I cant get it to stop creaking if I sit in a specific position.
I want this.

Hold on, let me rephrase that:

I WANT THIS!!!!!
I have an Ikea Markus chair, though I never attached the armrests. The black leather cover has got a few rips in it, but I've patched it up. Very comfortable by my reckoning.

I actually have a pvc beach chair in front of my PC.

Sometimes my wrist hurts from gaming and excessively using the computer, so my beach chair has an arm rest and I can place my arm and elbow there, so I don't put too much pressure in my wrist.

Also the wife has a bunch of thick sheets on the chair to make it softer or to hide it from sight. Not really sure which.

The chair in question is like one of these
For my PC I use a old office chair with a high back that support the small of my back. It's pretty hard, which I like, have arms and wheels.

But the best part is that it's freaking heavy. It looks like it weighs about the same as most office chairs but actually it's about five times as heavy. Makes me all warm inside because it's comfortable and I imagine it to have a solid steel frame inches thick beneath its upholstery. It will probably last longer than me! :)

Actually it made me think of that South Park vehicular replacement for the airlines. I won't link it because it's not exactly tame:)

But that thing does look obscenely excessive which is a draw, I will admit.
I bought this baby the other week: http://www.amazon.com/Serta-PureSoft-Executive-Massage-Midnight/dp/B002VLJC8W

$100 and it massages me. Hahaha. Very comfy and high (I am tall).

That design looks suspiciously like a cheap chair I bought a year or two ago. It broke. Since it was cheap I figured I'll buy another one. It broke too.

If I'm correct it have a design fault in its arms. They're plastic without any reinforcements so yeah, they break. That wouldn't be all bad except the arms also stabilise the back.

Though my chairs didn't have a...massage thingy so it might hold better than mine. :P

Sure. That would make me feel like playing "tands of the dentist" or "obstetrician tycoon"
