It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Heya,

I am not sure if this board is used to provide suggestions, but i didn't see another board for `Site suggestions'.

Basically, at the moment I have about 80 or so games from the website. I am sure there are people on this forum who have far more :). The problem is that the game shelf (the list of games you see under My Account) has now gotten pretty darn large. It's a minor problem perhaps, but it takes a while to browse through the games as it is (I prefer this view to the alternative list view).

To differentiate between the games I've played (or am not gonna play soon) and my back log, I've placed the back log games at the top, while the ones I've played are at the bottom of the shelf. It gets a bit unwieldy every time I buy new games as I now have to move quite a few games around on the shelf.

I just wanted to share a simple suggestion and see what you guys think of it. Would it be possible to have a `tabbed' bookshelf? Just like you have tabs in IE/Opera/any browser nowadays really. Then what one can do is to create a new bookshelf and use these extra bookshelves to categorise the games. Then, for example, I can arrange the games so that the back log can be in Tab 1, while the recently played games can be in Tab 2 and crap (rare, but it happens) games can go to Tab 3, etc.

And if someone doesn't like the feature they can just not create any `tabs' and keep everything on a single bookshelf.

Just a suggestions, I'd be curious to see what other users here think :).

You speak truth. I'd love for them to implement that.

I've yet to see a digital distribution site with a good category system. Steam comes close, but it's still annoying and not nearly customizable enough.
I suppose they could, I find I only download the games once, that's when I buy them. Then they're stored on my hard drive/

You problem could also be fixed if they added an 'insert between' option that then slid all the games to the right across one space.

Not customisable enough? You can call a category anything, and put any game in it! Is it that you want subcategories?

Naming categories is nice, however I've yet to find out how to put multiple games in a category at the same time.

Regarding OP, I'd love an updated shelf.

I think that's an excellent suggestion. It shouldn't even be that hard to implement. Don't expect too much though. Sadly, GOG isn't known for implementing site features requested by the community. They are good at many things, but web development isn't one of them.

Nah, mostly I want to be able to sort categories. Right now it just goes in alphabetical order, which I find annoying and unhelpful. Also they need to add the ability to set categories for groups of games. I have 80 games on my list, and I need to set the category one at a time? Not helpful.
