lig_789: I just said tic=tac-toe confuses me, and you throw charts with complex diagrams at me?!? BBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM! You know what that was? MY MIND!!!!!
I have to run now, so don't have time for a long explanation, but the diagram is much more simple that it seems. And you don't have to make any decision, just follow it for a perfect win (or a stalemate if your opponent doesn't make any mistakes).

Here's a tutorial. ;-)

ambient_orange: arcanum..

its a very good game and very long.. i didnt managed to finish the game..
You'll love it when you complete it. The only game ive played that ever reminded me of it with factions was geneforge 1 and 2.

A few more that i long to complete are-

Fallout 2-This game is the one game in the games made of that type that i was told, if the time limit of fallout 1 isnt your thing, you'll love fallout 2 even more. I might get into that again, though this time i will use melee to make it fun.

Lamb Da Rogue-Another turnbased rpg/roguelike.

Temple of Elemental Evil-Awesome turnbased combat but very difficult game.

Knights of the Chalice-Same as TOEE.
StarCraft - I just suck at RTS games.

F-Zero GX - This game is just too damn hard, and also the only one that I'mworried I'll never finish because I am actually unable to. I've beaten half the game on Expert, but I'm just never going to earn that last cup. FUCK.

Silent Hill 2 - Too scary. I'll try it again some day.

Im friggin horrible at rts too so dont feel bad.

As for silent hill 2 ive never played as horror was too scary. I did go against my crutch though and beat resident evil 2 alone. That game was scarier than 80% of most movies ive seen!
Fallout -- played it once a couple of years ago and never finished it, then got it free from GOG but barely started it. It's not really a game I "haven't finished" as I never really gave up on it, I just haven't had time to get back to it.

Icewind Dale II -- same thing as Fallout. Not officially 'abandoned' (I've actually never abandoned a game, as I do tend to finish them eventually) but I left it mid-level and can't remember where I am. Will probably start it again eventually.

Crusader Kings -- not really a game you ever 'finish' as there are too many endless possibilities -- just wish I had time to play it a lot more as it's a truly awesome game.

Telika: Got stuck in that mission, with the stuff and the attack of the things.
Oh yeah, that one is pretty tough. I think it is almost as bad as the mission where you are in that one place where the things attack.

Seriously, if you get it loaded and can name the exact mission you can get some good tips from a few of us Starcraft fans here.

The one game that I keep trying to finish is Baldur's Gate because I hear how great the game and story is, but I can't stand the actual gameplay especially the combat. I wish it were turn based so that I could get more precise with the individual actions of each member in the group, the active pause feature just doesn't cut it. I reinstall and restart it every couple of years but I never get past Disc 2.

I think I may just cheat and use some sort of character guide to make sure I setup the group for my playstyle rather than whatever happens to make sense at the time while playing. Two crazy guys on the side of the road? Sure I could use some meat shields. A Minstrel? Why bother. Some dude who talks to the mouse in his pocket? Well if he is in the game then he must be good for something.

Well now you know 2.
I was never able to do it again but once on a friday night I had just the right mix of lemonade and slim jims in my system that it produced the blind luck necessary to let me get past the one boss I could never beat before and have never beaten again. The rest of the game was easy in comparison. It was a big orange dude with one eye and you had to shoot him in the eye, but then he would close his eye and break into cubes and fly across to the otherside of the screen. Touching him or his cubes would hurt you. I hated that thing! I faced off with him every friday night for about 2 months straight. I switched to Mega Man 2 after that and never looked back.

I was never able to finish Blaster Master though.

With the exception of a few most of them aren't all that fun to play these days. They had the "bad" kind of difficulty built in for the most part (i.e. the artificial kind, not the genuine kind).
Any game with a completely linear campaign that has me stuck on one level for eternity. Bought the whole game and can play only up to that point. Yay. Currently this is Panzer General 2 and Soldiers. Stuck at a boss in Divine Divinity because I didn't level-up my skills "properly". I'll have to look back at those titles and see if there is a "you're a complete weenie" difficulty button.

I'm quite sure that's a recurring enemy in the MegaMan series. Or at least he returned again in MegaMan 3, which is the one I played on my NES. Maybe it's because I had very few games for it, but I eventually beated all of them (Mario Bros., Probotector, MegaMan 3 [this one used a password system, so no need to beat it in one sitting], Gradius...).

Now, PC games that I really would love to complete: any Heroes of Might and Magic game. Any of them, from 1 to 4. I really love this series. I love playing the games. I've played them for hours. And I've never ever completed a full campaign in any of them. The most close I've been was with Heroes III Complete, when I completed the 3 starting campaigns from the Restoration of Erathia storyline and one of the two that unlocks after that... and then my old PC died. :-/ But even if I had completed the two remaining campaigns there, that was just the original storyline. The other two storylines (expansions) included in Complete would have been awaiting me next...

Baldur's Gate Throne of Bhaal. I'm really ashamed to say that I've never completed the expansion to one of my favorite games of all time. I always get through the main story and then lose interest or something else comes up before I can finish ToB. Right now, I'm about 2 hours into the expansion and "I'm sure" I'll find time to finish it soon.

Neverwinter Nights.

2 Main reasons why I never finished it.

1. I couldn't play it when I first got it since my computers were crap.
2. I get through the first couple of chapters with my created character and then I start getting bored of my character, so I create something else and restart the current chapter. And then, I feel bad that I restarted and go back to character #1. Then, I realize why I abandoned him in the first place and go back to character #2. And then, what's the point of this whole thing?

I spent more time creating characters in that game than actually playing it.
Assassin's Creed. I finished AC2 and AC:B, but I've never managed to finish AC, it's just too mind numbingly repetitive without much to gain from it.

Also, Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure, I've never managed to beat that series as I get stuck on that last level of the second game.
