SimonG: Alpha Protocol also seems to get a lot of hate. Especially weird considering it is one of the best games made in the last ten years. Truly a great game. For once something "unique" done right.

orcishgamer: Alpha Protocol seems to get nothing but love everywhere I hear it mentioned...
Except for major video game news publishing websites... where everyone seems to be a trendy bastard.
Not sure if some of these count but I thought these games had negative attention from fans and critics.

-Luigi's Mansion

I had fun with this game. I liked the ghost hunting and the overall awkward humor of this game.

-Devil May Cry 4

I like the series and I thought this was a decent entry. I'll admit it's the 2nd worst in the series since it's the most repetitive, but I liked Nero as a hero, the overall flow and feel of the game.

-Oblivion

Skyrim made me appreciate this game more. Had a more interesting story that felt more involving, and felt like it had more interesting world.

-The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker

This seems like the most hated game in the series next the Majora's Mask (another game I love). I thought the game continued with the original formula, had wonderful graphics, and I thought it had a good inventory of interesting items. Although the sea felt really empty but I could live with that.

I also thought it was an absolutely stellar PC port. Looked and ran beautifully on my machine when I played it (keyboard controls sucked but, let's be real, the game is designed around using a pad).

DodoGeo: Bulletstorm.
I wholeheartedly agree! I thought it was the best FPS I had played in quite some time, yet everyone seemed to despise it. I will admit that the interface could have used a little streamlining for KB+M, but as far as mechanics and playability are concerned, Bulletstorm is phenomenal. They say we aren't getting a sequel, but if they were going to shit out crap sequels like they did with People Can Fly's other gem (Painkiller), it's probably better off staying a one-off.

My hope, however slight, is that the lack of success means that EA will see fit to detach the GFWL down the road, and sell the game without DRM here. Doubt that will happen, but you never know :)

I loved Luigi's Mansion, Wind Waker, and Majora's Mask. Though I think WW is generally pretty well-respected (though traveling across the sea could be a bit annoying before you could teleport due to the emptiness you mentioned).
Binary Domain is one I would like to toss in. It seems to get a ton of flak from reviewers, but I personally enjoyed it a great deal. It may not be the most ideal port, but I don't find it terrible either. The dialogue is cheesy and it has its b-movie moments, but I think that is why I loved it so much. It looks like it should be a terrible game, but I enjoyed every minute of it and am already looking forward to playing it again (just finished it last night).

I never played Wind Waker (only the "sequels" on the ds) but I remember that the art shift was very, very, very criticized by many gamers. The stuff I read back than. Ouch.

I really enjoyed that game too. It is hated? Damn. Like you said. Very cheesy (but very good working) Japanese storyline and awesome gunplay, imo. Played the PC version with a pad and it was marvellous. Played it twice and loved every minute of it.

It's only hated by reviewers it seems. Most players seemed to love it.
