El_Double: TES 4: Oblivion
[...] Of course, I played the game on Xbox so I couldn't mod it, many people have said that the mods save the game. Don't know about that, but this game can never achieve the fantastic atmosphere that Morrowind has.

xa_chan: Believe me, it does ! The modding community on Oblivion is just amazing ! The thing is that, once you started to mod your Oblivion on PC, it's hard to stop. ;) Plus the fact that you sometimes have to run into annoying bugs and incompatibilities... But it's worth the effort! I actually can't play "vanilla" Oblivion anymore, modding it really underlines how bland and empty the original game was...
Actually, I never had the chance to try Morrowind "in-depth" but that mistake will soon be corrected... once i'll have finished Dragon Age Origins ! ;)

Morrowind is definitely the kind of game that you'll just HAVE TO try "in-depth" to get into it. But once it sucks you in, there's really no way out so only try it if you have enough time! That's what it made for me at least.
I'm gonna buy a new PC soon and then I can run Oblivion as well, guess I'll have to give it another try and install some mods. Recommend you'll do the same with MW, after you've first finished the game at least once. There are some wonderful mods available and more are being made all the time. The various graphical enhancement mods are worth checking out if you're bothered by the old graphics, but I figure it won't be a problem for a GOG user. :)
Ok, probably the last one this year (if it counts): Left 4 Dead 2. All campaigns completed, but I'm not done playing yet.
I wish I could have played more Morrowind. It was an awesome game, and probably still is. Unfortunately, I can't stand jellyfish (without an official diagnosis I'll refrain from calling it a phobia), and at a certain point (about level 10?) overworld travel just became impossible for me.
I did enjoy Tribunal a bit, but stopped playing when it became clear artefact donations weren't retroactively counted for the part of the main quest where you had to get a certain shield, and being only level 17 or so at the time my only option would be to travel back to the overworld, which just wasn't possible for me.
Kinda funny what keeps you from playing games at times. I stopped playing Starfox Adventures once I realised I would have to revisit that damn temple quite a few times over the course of the game, and I had a friend run through the Water Temple in Twilight Princess for me. (Thankfully he nabbed the two Heart Pieces in there as well).
I'm just glad I failed to identify with some of the fancier jellyfish in some games. Kingdom Hearts had some weird-looking Heartless, and it took me quite a while to see the similarities. I think there were a few jellyfish sprites in the background in Chain of Memories, but the game was too awesome for me to put down. Mario Sunshine and Kingdom Hearts 2 had realistic-looking specimen either shown very briefly or only on close inspection, so that was okay, I guess.
It's interesting to pose my love of video games against my greatest fear, but sadly the fear usually wins. Still can't make up my mind on whether I should finish the first two Metroid Prime games or not, though. The third game I can't handle, but the first two are just short enough on Metroids for me to be torn.
Borderlands. What an end, meh.

God of War: Chains of Olympus (PSP). Finished it a couple of days ago.
Excellent. Now do it again, on God Mode. That's what I did... Thank goodness there was a game over handicap system, or I'd never have made it through... Anyway, the unlocks are hilarious and actually worth it, in a sense.

acare84: Borderlands. What an end, meh.

Words cannot the describe how awful it was.
Since the last time I posted here I think I finished: Borderlands (obviously), COD:MW2, Brutal Legend, Halo 3:ODST, Sanitarium, Dark Fall: The Journal, Sacrifice, MDK, The Longest Journey, Sacred
Mirror's Edge.
Wow. the first half of that game is my game of the year. The second part with all the combat was frustrating as hell. What went wrong?
Star Wars: Republic Commando
Probably the last one to be added to the list this year. Short campaign, but the story was actually quite moving when the writers didn't try to squeeze in unnecessary one-liners.
Whoever directed the whole thing needs to go back to school, though. You don't interrupt background music building up to a crescendo with a loading screen. You don't put in a loading screen directly after dialogue. You don't cut to a loading screen during a live scene just because you couldn't be bothered to direct it.
Argh. Here's hoping there will be a sequel that can correct these mistakes. :)
Rock Band 2. Yes, I know I'm a little late on playing that, but it is still awesome. Thinking about picking up LEGO Rock Band for the tracks. Does anyone have it, and is it decent?
