Hawk52: If this was due to the twitter message, then this means they aren't going to work with me on this even though the mess up was on their end not mine.

Can't say I'm happy, at all. They aren't offering a blue coin refund or a partial or anything. It's just flat out denied so far.

bansama: If you haven't received a reply via Twitter from Angie or Gus, then they probably haven't seen the message yet (they don't work weekends as far as I know). Give it another 24 hours or so to get a response from either of them.
That would be nice, but at this point I'm not holding out hope.

I've made a post at CheapAssGamers and I'll say it here: If anyone is interested in a HOMM VI Deluxe Edition with Preorder Bonuses for around 40-48 US dollars, hit me up. I'm willing to deal at this point to recoup something.
Wow that sucks. I can see their point, but if it took them two days to respond ... Opening two tickets shouldn't slow down anything, either. Basically, they were too slow to respond and then discovered that the game had already been released, and now they either have to take a hit and refund you, or they have to go "okay, you ordered the game and wanted to cancel it too close to release". Clearly they picked the latter.

To be devil's advocate: you're always responsible for your own actions, even when on pain meds. It's your responsibility to make sure you don't do stuff like that. If you go out in your car and kill a kid while on pain meds, you can't use that as your defense either, can you? If it makes you do stupid stuff, maybe you can try switching to another brand and type? Plenty of pain meds out there. Some make you tired but it's better than finding out you bought a vacation home in Romania when you sober up.

I agree. I had the pills due to wisdom teeth surgery and they messed me up bad. The order was totally my fault, I never denied that part.

Everything after wasn't my fault though. I think I reasonably did everything I could, and considering the situation was rather nice about it.

Update:
Twitter worked. I got a reply from Andreas who went over the file himself. It was exactly like I said, the main game serials were never displayed, but the pre order ones were automatically displayed.

I've been given a full refund. In the end, GamersGate pulls through and the story has a happy ending. Much thanks to Bansama, I would have never thought to have used Twitter.

Have you tried playing Painkiller instead of taking pills?

Glad to hear that everything worked out for you.

It's honestly another example of this community coming through for me. If I didn't make this thread, and Bansama hadn't made that suggestion, I don't think I'd ever have gotten the refund.
