Level no longer matters as they started the next phase a few days ago. Thus people who signed up for the beta are now being invited. The first round of invites were based on level and were handled separately to the email list (which is why people originally invited, who had signed up as well, were also re-invited last week).

Just a reminder, but the service is still covered by an NDA. People can only state that they have been invited. They cannot mention anything else.

good point. allow me to rephrase, I was thinking of buying Crusader kings on gamersgate and as this thread is specific to that DD site I thought id ask if its any good.

Yes, but you're asking other people here in the beta to use their knowledge of the beta to answer your question, thus, you're asking them to break the NDA.

I'm part of it. Was part of first phase and they invited me back for the second. I'm only level 3 though, so I don't know what your experience level has to do with getting in.

The way I'm seeing this free games bit is that it allows you to try games for free in genres you might not have tried before. That's the benefit I see from this type of service. I know I'm on a NDA, so I won't say anymore.

There's only one game on the list I've bought (not from Gamersgate since I already had it), but I've downloaded three other games in three other genres to try out. I think that's pretty cool to tell you the truth and as long as they get more publishers and more games to allow you to do this, I think the service will have great value. Everyone hates buying something that turns out to be garbage. This helps eliminate that.

I'm surprised they didn't lock me out 'cause of my IP.

Ain't a bad system, some of the games are kind of lacking.

I'm in the Beta, I can choose games, but when I download the installer and run it, it says that there is no such game on my account and closes... :(
