Déjà vu doesn't make sense because I don't listen to the music with the eyes, but with my ears...

So Déjà ecouté would probably fit in here better.

Anyway, pardon my French. Let's get to buisness:

These example are from the really nice game Spellforce II which is part of the great GOG library.

I've heard some of it's soundtrack elsewhere. I'm not saying anyone stole anything but I heardthis one herein another videogame!

And definitely this one here too...
Does this ring a bell???

Don't remember now, I think it was Legends of Eisenwald?.. It was officially confirmed for some game that they licensed some of Spellforce tracks from original composer for usage in their game, so yeah, you are right that it's same track, and yes, it wasn't stolen.
I heard it some place else, I'm not going to tell beforehand, because I don't want to influence your posts, though and I want to know if this is common or not...

But thank you for that interesting point. Is Legend of Eisenwald a good game?

I presume that if that particular composer's tracks are available for external licensing, it's not surprising that they are getting some use inside industry for teams on budget.

Legends of Eisenwald: if you enjoyed King's Bounty, then yeah. Overall "Turn-based Mount & Blade" actually does sum it up pretty well.

I get déjà-entendu (or déjà-ecouté, guess one can use both in this case) all the time, usually with Hans Zimmer soundtracks because he "borrows" stuff all the time. With game soundtracks, it happens a lot as well, many are easily identified as arrangements of something else, at least in certain parts.

Lord of the Rings (C64 game) vs. Flesh + Blood theme

Iron Lord soundtrack is basically Pase el Agoa and Gaudete, too very famous 15/16th century songs

Must point out that Jeroen Tel's chiptune version of Gaudete sounds better than the way most choirs sing it, especially when the Latin words get butchered by certain accents)

I show up thinking that you were talking about THIS Deja Vu. No matter, everyone loves a decent remix.

Nope, they have their own composer.

Yes. Think of it as a more story-driven King's Bounty, divided into scenarios.

You're right, that does sound incredibly familiar, I just can't place it.

I immediately though about the Lord of the Rings soundtrack. The beginning part is very familiar but I can't quite place it, but further in there's a piece that sounds very similar to the Rohirrim fiddle theme.

You are right. It was actually Lords of Xulima that I've read about reuse for:

Looks like it's very promising, but not fully cooked yet. Aaaaaand it might make it here on GOG.

I'm bored and lonely so I just bought it from my arch-nemesis Steam.
