So, you guys have helped before with questions like this, but I'm not so sure about success this time...

It would have been DOS, early to mid 90s most likely -- in color (generally several static screens). I seem to remember a mystery or perhaps just an adventure set in a small town. There was a bank, a museum, restaurant, etc. I remember going around and getting things for my inventory (e.g., if you went to the bank they gave you a free gift, etc.).

May have been a kids game.

I know it isn't much to go on, but I was curious if this struck any memories.

Thanks guys!

Can you remember much about the character you played? Old, young, male, female...

Also, what sort of place was it set in? Modern, futuristic, old west...

Finally, was it point and click? or text-based? did you move using the cursor keys?
were you a car? I played a kids game like that, but you were a car.
I think I played a male (if there was a gender), possibly young character.

Time period seemed present day.

If nothing else, keep the questions coming -- I'll try to think about it in specifics.

Thanks!

Feels like it predated most point and click -- you either moved with the cursor keys or made choices from a menu.

Oh well, thanks everyone for your help -- this one may just have to stay a mystery.

If you do not mind visiting Abandonia, you can post this question on their forum. Their members are usually quite knowledgeable about DOS games.

Here is the direct link to the unknown games subforum: http://www.abandonia.com/vbullet/forumdisplay.php?f=79

I know that I'm dragging an old topic out of the ancient past, but I wanted to report that I went through a list of old educational titles and found the game I was looking for, "Return of the Dinosaur"

http://www.hotud.org/component/content/article/47-education/21139

I was just so excited that I had to share.
i have got a game too that i can't remember the name anymore. it's an old menu based adventure game.
you had like a few options everytime to move and i think to pick up objects and stuff by pressing a letter or number on the keyboard.
must be made around the year 1990. you also had to find fuel for your ship.

there are other sites who have a name this game type of thing in the forums so maybe we can make this a topic for anyone searching a particular game?
