I love the indies but not many of them compete for top 5 of the year. A lot of small-studio games do however and that is just as uplifting to me. Risen is in my top 5 and it came from a very small studio and publisher.
As for the list it seems good... large focus on PC-only games or games much better on PC, which makes sense. For a PC-only gamer though my list would have a lot more ports on it, such as Borderlands and FEAR 2.

That is true.
Risen is another story though. The studio is not as new and small as it looks like. But I understand what are you saying.
