Anyone bought it and played it? Looks and sounds to be a bit like Freelancer.

PS Talking about the "new" HD Version that just released on Steam btw.

I have it on the iPhone, looks like they released a PC version as well. Looks alot better on PC. Guess it's like Freelancer or a very lite version of X3. There's trading, dogfighting, freelance quests, the main quest, you can buy new ships and equip them wih different types of weapons, shields and accessories. There is no building of factories and complexes like in X3 though.
I saw this pop up on the Steam store, myself, and I was kinda wondering what the deal with it was. It looks Freelancer/Privateer-y. (Both of which are games I loved) but I don't want to jump in on this one until more people have weighed in with their opinions on it.
Well really i guess i just want to know if its easy to play control wise. Freelancer has been by far the easiest Space sim for me to get into control wise, with maybe Darkstar One coming in second.
£2.99 on iTunes on £12.99 on Steam. Nice! At least it is full HD.

Dogfights are easy to control, it has mouse target tracking like Darkstar One, pitch and roll, throttle etc. Easy to see, fight and manoeuvre. Its easier to bloody dock than Darkstar One. No cockpit view though (too many ships I guess, shame that).

There's lots of different ships and incredibly pretty space backgrounds, but you travel from one identical space station to the next and see the same identical two or three rooms on every station (the hanger for ship upgrades and the bar for work). All NPC interaction is done through the little dialogue boxes (voice acted). Ship upgrades and trading is handled in illustrated 2D menus.

Like a lot of these games, the pretty is reserved for the space battles, everything else is handled via efficient menus.

The series started on the iOS, don't see how much complex it can get control wise. :)

Played the Android demo some times ago and got bored before the end of the demo... which is usually not a good sign. It felt like an ultra lite-freelancer and the bad controls, at least on tablet, didn't help.
