I know you've had problems with being downrepped before when all you were doing was being humorous :) I had a similar problem on YouTube but I got over it in the end. Ultimately it doesn't really matter. My conclusion is that the internet sucks just as badly as the real world does, except that people are generally bolder on the internet because no-one can see them.

Ackwastaken: If there is one thing the Internet has taught me, it is that people do indeed suck. Hilariously so.
It becomes funny in the end but it isn't to start with if you are a sensitive soul. Some of the threads on YouTube videos, for instance, are just all-out mutual hate-ins (well, that used to be the case). You've got to laugh or else you'd cry. There's a lot of bullying which goes on on the internet too, mostly perpetrated by clever students or other people who always seem to have the best argument to hand. It's not worth worrying about too much : the real world is still the genuine testing ground.

Ha ha that is really funny :) The internet will be a weird and chaotic place for some time to come I reckon, and perhaps it always will be ? On the plus side it CAN be a good thing for people who, for whatever reason, "don't get out much" - but it can just as equally be a bad thing. It's not the "real" world, though, and everyone should remember that.

I have to say,GOG must stop using the rep system,I've lost over a 100 rep just because I've posted on the GIFTING threads and I don't spam the place,this doesn't count the times that I've been downrepped for doing a giveaway of Wiz 8(seriously,I've gifted one of the best and most sought out games on the site and I got downvoted,sure lots of people entered and liked but I'm starting to think that someone just hates me)

Everyone has an opinion..... some are more negative than others and cant handle when someone says something they vehemently don't agree with they hit the minus....:/

I got a low rating once for posting "hello". I think "can't handle" doesn't really do their problem justice. :P

A great example is that other thread about a couple of Disciples 2 files from GOG registering as viruses in AVG. The entire first page has been voted down, every single post.
