So, without too much fanfare, SquareEnix re-released Final Fantasy VII for the PC the other day. Interestingly enough, I believe it's only available at their website here: http://finalfantasyviipc.com/en

I suppose that increases the likelihood that it will be here at GOG one day, but I'm scratching my head a little as to why such a major game in gaming history and especially in that company's history was re-released with practically non-existent marketing and available only at one obscure-ish website.

Oh well.

Ah... thanks for the thread link. I searched for "Final Fantasy" before posting but missed this somehow.

Dotemu are behind getting this game up and running on modern systems so a DRM-free release in the future could be possible.
