Hey all, I'm looking for a movie. Now about 90% of me is like "yeah, I'm sure it was a movie" and 10% of me is thinking it's an old dream that never left.

Now I don't remember much at all, and it was back when I was a kid, so think 80's/90's (or possible it was a little earlier) anyway, all I can think of, and remember, was GIANT mechs. Like full blown, size of buildings kinda things, and there was good ones and bad ones, they're piloted by people, was a lot of action, not the most epic movie of all time, not great acting that I can remember. Just it's one of those which is stuck in my head that little bit, and it urges me to find it, and try to watch it.

Then again it could have been a dream and I'm therefore just screwed, but I'm hoping it is memory and not fantasy. So I turn to you, GoGlites and GoGlettes alike, to perhaps know what this could be.
That could be anything from Evangelion to Escaflowne. Or Aquarion. Or Rahxephon. Mobile Suit Gundam. Or Power Rangers. That Japanese Spider-Man adaption.

It wasn't an anime. It was live action with real peoples. That much I remember.
Likely not it, as it was way before your time, but your question brought back memories of Johnny Sokko and His Flying Robot. Ah, good times...

That could still be Power Rangers. Or Spider-Man. Though I consider the Spider-Man one unlikely.

And there is also Robot Wars.

It could be it but I vaguely remember other film about mechs from '70-'80. Can't remember title but I'm still trying :-)

I looked at the trailer for that on youtube and it wasn't that unfortunatly. I thought it might be Crash and Burn, but not sure on that. But I remember the huge mechs, kinda like gundam, but was live action, and no not power rangers or spiderman.

EDIT Though I will say it was similar to Robot Jox

acemarch: snip
Were they fighting on some kind of desert - the scenes had yellow/orange/red tint?
From the 80s, probably Infra-Man

From the 90s, probably Gundam Live Action Movie

I just watched Robot Jox on youtube and I think it was the movie I saw. So if that's not yours - can't help, sorry
Hmm it could well be Robot Jox, but perhaps my memory as a kid just saw it in a different light. I just recall a killer right hook from one mech to the other, and I vaguely recall some motto or chant (for some reason crush, kill, destroy pops into my head but I doubt it was that)

Oh well, thanks all for your help, but I think it probably was Robot Jox and just the rest is my memory playing tricks on me, though I still think it was a more realistic looking movie/battles in it etc. 2 part immagination, 1 part memory perhaps >_<

I'll search for that anyway, add it to my "movies to watch" list, whilst I watch Dune for the millionth time, followed by Tron, then possibly Krull and some other good old classics. xD
