That reminds me, any reason to leave steamworks on it?

EDIT: Still going to buy it, I just don't want to deal with DRM.

Well you'll have to install Steam to install the game and latest patches anyway, so really, there's no reason to not. +you get achievements if you're into that kind of stuff, and ... That's probably it I guess.

I run Steam offline all the time. It prevents surprise patches breaking shit and also Steam is 10 times more responsive and fast offline.

It means I miss out on achievements half the time, but no fucks are given.

I know steam can be turned to offline mode, but I just like to be sure about these things. GOG has spoiled me somewhat :)

Any game on PC that has mods is worthwhile. And if you also have a gaming PC is even more worthwhile.

Well, i decided to buy it. You know, I had added to my cart during the sale, but forgot about it until yesterday when I saw the little indicator in the browser! Downloading it now, but it's competing with a TF2 update...

One last question, Anyone know of any mods that make melee combat a bit more interesting, like a timing based system similar to what arx fatalis uses?

Hm, I'd like to know as well. Considering Melee/Unarmed for my next guy. Though, at the very least you can learn different special moves (and some weapons have their own) to shake things up.

Finalguard: 3) Can I use a gamepad with it DON'T HURT ME!
Out of the box it's X-Input (360) compatible but if you have a controller that offers mapping features like Logitech's you can easily map the mouse and keyboard to it.

I use my Logitech with it switched to X-Input.

Game is kinda buggy and crashy for me but then again I'm below specs with my old PC.

Also kinda of strange to hear about crashing issues on a console.
