orcishgamer: The description makes it look like all companions get left behind. I have not tried it. 10 bucks for dlc is too much for me in most cases.
No human companions but ED-E comes with you, there is also a side quest that upgrades him.

*Spoilers*

There is a Doctor Whitley, the same guy on ED-E's recordings who was at Adams Air Force Base in Fallout 3.
I am currently 3 hours into it, and I'm liking it so far, although it hasn't yet pulled me all the way in, like Dead Money and Old World Blues did. The atmosphere is good, though, and I like the fact that you are basically all alone with your opponent.

And ED-E is even more adorable than before. All I'm saying is: sneaky beeping. :)

Also just a few hours in it.
I have to say I really disliked Dead Money (horrendous environment / story), somewhat enjoyed Old World Blues (hilarious story telling, way over board with the brain / spine thingy though) and liked Honest Hearts all the way.

So far, can't say the Road took me by storm. Linear, almost no exploration. Story so far rather with a looney, wacky attitude with a lot of ramblings far from making any sense. Like in the other DLCs you have to ask yourself why Obsidian even implemented the companion-system when you can't use the previous ones - though the ED-E version and his side-story you'll get, come along nicely and is the better part of the DLC so far.
Some new ideas in the weapon department, otherwise rather dull. Really no match to Honest Hearts or even Old World Blues. Instead they ramped up the difficulty to a new all time high with enemies being a threat even on the easiest level, except for stealth / far away kills, which are almost impossible to apply due to the environment.

It looks more like a heavily scripted railway-shoother then an RPG so far with 2 clearly visible scripted enemy-spawns before getting the first item. It forces a comparison with Operation Anchorage for F3 on itself, which isn't an achievement.

I've read the 5/10 review on Eurogamer and so far, I have to say they're spot on.
Ok, finished it after about 6 hours, which puts Lonesome Road on par with Honest Hearts. Well, I'd rather say I made it to the end. I still have some things to do in the Divide and things to collect.

My immediate reaction: I am somewhat disappointed, because LR didn't provoke the same kind of emotional response in me that DM and OWB did. Those had me from start to finish, and LR just can't measure up, IMO. Ulysses is presented well, at least, and I was happy that the game didn't force me to kill him, if I didn't want to. I'm looking forward to reading some character analyses of Ulysses, because he seems to be a pretty complex character.
It felt a little rehashed from Elijah's story in Dead Money. Obsessive dick wad sets out to avenge his own irrelevance on the mojave, a theme often visited in the original story too.

------Spoilers follow-----

I had real trouble making sense of Ulysses' ramblings on the conveniently situated holotapes.

I have no idea why the community of the Divide, some flag blind remnants of America I accidentally destroyed by setting off their own ancestors nuclear arsenal, where any brighter an example of humanity than the Bull or Bear.

I also never found out what the weather experiment was BigMT conducted there.

All that happened was I ran through some nice set piece levels, shot some ghouls, deathclaws, and mutated lizard creatures that its hinted might have been asleep under the earth for eons, jesus.

Then some starey eyed fuck taunts me for loving the NCR, when Yes Man and I are moments from bending them over the dam. My god like level 50 master of all skills can then suddenly convince the idiot to love the NCR with a magnificent example of "nuh-uh, I am rubber you are glue"

Or I can slaughter him in a single round of VATS because he thought talking to me from two feet away with a riot shotgun in my hands, and thretening everything I've worked towards was a good idea.

Weak nemesis.

Best I can say about the dlc is theres some nice looking levels, and you get a bowie knife.

That fucking shameful tin can is more so this time around but you can call him on it at least. Would have been nice to find Whitley's corpse with no pants, bent over an eyebot. Not being able to burn the 20 well named Ralphie (euphemism for puke) posters was a missed opportunity.
I quite enjoyed the DLC. Ok the end battle was a bit weak but i enjoyed the exploring of the divide and for once enjoyed having ed-e around. There still un answered questions but i hope will be answered in the next fallout game (if it is done).
I enjoyed Lonesome Road a lot, it was damn hard in places but then I was only Lv35 finishing it. Damn it had that lovely sneak bonus perk. With the implant from OWB I can now sneak as fast as I can normally walk.

For those interested Couriers Stash and Gun Runners' Arsenal are now up for sale on steam for $1.99 and $4.99 respectively.

GRA is $3.99, at least in the US. I got it, it adds a lot of content if you really look into it. Gonna play through Old World Blues and Lonesome Road now with the new guns. The pre-order DLC is pointless and stupid though.

One dollar less than expected is a nice surprise. Been looking through the GRA list and the .50 explosive ammo is calling me. The unique Brush Gun will be a nice weapon for Cass too.
