Bwah. Fall from Heaven III... as a stand-alone game. And Civ5 coming this year.

I'll probably buy this (Price and DRM permitting).
Heard good things about the mod, never got around to playing it. It will be interesting to see what they do when they can make everything exactly as they want it.
The stand-alone game is dead. :(

Man that sucks, I was really looking forward to this game. I've actually sunk more hours into the mod then I have civ4 now. Hopefully he will do a 3rd game on the civ5 engine as a mod if he can't do it stand alone.
Yep, I haven't searched about it, but it's very likely that these guys will develop a mod for Civ5 then.

It's the industry killing creativity and innovation, they mostly want to fund only the same franchises and same themes, year after year... And then, blame piracy for lower sales on the PC...
This is disappointing, but after reading about it, it doesn't seem to have been what I wanted from a Fall from Heaven-game in the first place. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent universe (if perhaps a little too dark, which is why I always played the Elohim), but the lore isn't the reason I play(ed) Fall from Heaven.

I played it because it was basically Civ IV with tons of awesome stuff added to it, and a world that felt alive (with random events, et.c.). So what I wanted was really just a stand-alone version of the mod, designed from the ground up for all the unique ideas that FFH added to the Civ-style gameplay. And with an AI that could actually play the game properly.
