I was on my way to buy Lights Out 2, which is on sale. So I went on the game page to read reviews - look at the last ones:

It should be changed so you actually have to own a game on GOG before you can review it.

There's lots of review spam. If I was moderator for but an hour, that'd change. I'm sure more than enough users could say the same. I'm honestly surprised they don't have somebody to deal with such a small issue. Hell, pay a drunkard in an alley $1 and he'll take care of it.

Until then, apparently all you can do is click "no" for "was this helpful?". Maybe once a review hits "0 out of 1,000 people found this helpful", perhaps it will be flagged and reviewed for removal. XD

This seems like it could limit some good reviews, but I don't think I'd argue against it for the sake of clean reviews. Not that there aren't a bunch of lame reviews by people who probably own the game...

Or add a 'report as spam' button, like they did with the forum posts.

Given that GOG versions may well be free of problems experienced in other versions I think it will actually make the reviews more accurate. DRM can hamper performance and cause crashes as well. It's not always as clean cut as it letting you play the game or not.

IMHO it's better for people to review based upon the gOg version rather than the other versions. There's possibly bugs in the gOg version which aren't in the other and vice versa. Good explanation. Hadn't thought of that being a reason why the gOg version might be more reliable.

I guess I look to reviews more for content and assume the game is at least playable.

It seems that now days GoG has spam here and there, everywhere. One way to solve this, would be to make forum post where users can inform spammers when they see one, after that admin could easily delete spam messages and spamming users.
