I just bought BG2 and apparently can't download faster then 10-15 kb/s. Is this normal? I will for sure never again purchase anything on this site if that's the standard dl-speed. My download speed from other sites is usually around 2 Mb/s. I was very excited to play BG2 today and now it sems I will be able to play it in half a week...? I tried the GOG-downloader and the browser and with the downloader it's even slower at 8-9 Kb/s. Last time i downloaded that slow was like 1995. I've already tried it with disabled firewall / AV software restarted modem/router etc. with the same results. I am really disappointed right know and would be very happy for some input on how to fix this problem.

The download's pretty good on this side. Are you downloading via GOG downloader or browser?

Ups, just re-read your post, I can see you've tried both options.

I'm having no problems, getting 1,3-1,5 Mb/s.

Must be something on your end. I consistently get over 1 Mb/sec.

amazon f.e. but i don't intend on buying it twice...

this is really wierd, I can simultaneously download stuff from other servers around the globe with 1-2Mb/s but the BG2 download is stuck at 15kb/s.

It seems your download speed from gog is artificially limited for some reason. Wait a bit, maybe it will increase late on.

it is now hovering between 7 and 12 kb/s.

Meanwhile I've tried it with FDM and even a different computer with the same results.

I guess there is nothing more I can do but wait until wednesday... :-(

Ha! All my downloads are about that, 30kb/s tops. I'm saving BG2 for last just because of that

I'm just dowloading games from weekend promo - 853 KB/s

1,5 - 2 MB/s for me. Maybe you should try to download the game on diffrent computer?

It downloaded for 6 hrs @10kb/s then for like an hour @20kb/s and then magically rocketed to 2-3Mb/s. Yaaayy!

I have no idea what the issue was but it seems to be resolved. :-)
