orcishgamer: You're right, more points of failure. But I do cook quite a bit. I am making potato and leak soup tonight. I made sausage stuffed acorn squash with asiago cheese earlier this week. At any rate, I already bought the Cuisinart since it was 100 bucks off on Amazon and I got one day shipping for 4 bucks.
I'm going to a knife show sometime this month to see if I can pick up some Shun knives on the cheap (or at least the bamboo knife block for cheap).
Like I said, if you're going to use any of the features go for it. Although it sounds like it wasn't really that much more money anyways.
I'd check woot.com, they often times have those, although perhaps not often enough to justify waiting for. Although, they do have a 2 piece on sellout.woot.com for another hour or so.
