I enjoyed the firtst one, it was one of my all time favourite strategy games. I played the second one and i liked it also (but less). Now I was planing to get the third one and complete the saga, but i see that for many people here it´s a piece of crapp.
It´s really that bad? Another Master of Orion III? No one liked it?

Thanks 4 your advice, fellow players.

There's a demo you can try somewhere online.

From that you can tell it has worse unit AI than the original C&C. Units can't find their way around the map and don't even seem to know how to close the gap on an enemy when they're out of range.

The voice acting is probably some of the most annoying of any game ever. I don't know why so many similar games attract such failed attempts at humour in the unit speech. But this is among the worst.

The actual 'tactical' battles are far simpler than the previous games and again inferior to those produced a decade before it. The 'strategic' map is redundant.

And yes, I'm using tactical and strategic in the lightest sense possible. They're not accurate descriptions of this game. All in all it's pretty terrible.

LOL Yeah, I bet. If English language versions can sometimes be fobbed off with terrible voice acting I don't want to imagine what Spanish language versions are like.

Not really. Spain have very good voice actors/dubbers on movies, but on many games especially the ones dubbed 10 years ago they taked their work in a unprofessional way. I am against movie/game dubbing anyway, I prefer to play a game or see a movie on the language it was created.

Oh man, I remember buying a spanish magazine that made it to our shores named Gamelive PC I think. You'd get some old game for free on their CDs but most of the times they were translated. It's not so much the pronunciation that hurt the ears but also that spanish usually has longer and "wordier" ways of saying things than english, so the translator would usually talk at blinding speed in order to fit the dialogue into the visual cues.

I had an easier time understanding english games than spanish translated ones.

Hey I loved that magazine! They gave away Warcraft 2: Battle.NET Edition too, so don't mess with them :P

I got that one from them too. I loved that magazine. It's amazing that after several years, I'm still using them since I'm buying old games they reviewed long ago when they were new. :)
