Landeril: Vampires The Masquerade was the easiest for me
avatar
macuahuitlgog: The game was insanely hard for me.
Did you play WoD Prior to playing the game?

lukaszthegreat: i did hear differently. that story, characters are great but combat is damn annoying and hard. i remember i had problems with one of the first missions as vampire. too many darn zombies and my life was dripping low
I found the game easy, but I was used to the abilities.

Leroux: It becomes easier when you understand how the bloodsucking works (lure single individuals to you without attracting the others, cast Awe on them, Bite, after that transform blood into health) and once you realize there is a Pause button ("Pause" on the keyboard) to ease the party management. Took me some time to find out, too (I believe the pause button was added with the patch and isn't mentioned in the manual).
Wait - There IS a pause button in the original Vampire game that lets you manage the party while paused? Awesome - I remember playing that game and enjoying it loads until I hooked up with the Thermaturgy chick and found that by the time I'd selected a spell and cast it that either I'd won the fight or half the party were dead already!
I might have to dig it out again then - cheers!

LOL I'm sure the Tremere girl is really good - I just never got to use her properly because I'm not fast enough without a pause mode!

I feel the same way. BG beat me up without pause. Which might be why in VtM I only focused on playing my character unless the others needed blood.
Back on topic, looking through the list, the only GOG I could find that I'd finished (except for Beneath a Steel Sky) was Interstate '76 - Don't know if that means its easy or if it was just fun enough to keep me interested until the end though...

I'm pretty sure it was the latter, as some missions were quite frustrating to get through.
Any new suggestions for the easiest GOGs? I want to finish something in one sitting this weekend :)

P.S. I don't like simulation & strategy games.

gameon: Painkiller on the easiest setting is possible for the game (plus expainsion) to be completed within a few days. And the soundtrack is awesome too (included in the GOG extras also)
Thank you for a recommendation, but I can't stand few days in one sitting :)

If you like adventure games, I'd suggest the Blackwell series. It consists of four episodes and you can play through each of them in a matter of 2-4 hours, I think (I read the last one is significantly longer though; I haven't finished it myself yet). And it's pretty easy for an adventure game. In the same vein, I can recommend Botanicula.

MDK is short, just a matter of a few hours. And if I'm not mistaken, Beyond Good & Evil and Fallout are said to be not that long either. Maybe around 10-15 hours, if you're not a completionist?

Leroux: Beyond Good & Evil
Fantastic idea! I played it years ago, but I lost my saves and eventually didn't finish it! Thank you :)

/e: I will play Blackwell series and Botanicula in the future for sure, thank you for your suggestions!

You're welcome! Here's an approximate indication of how long it might take to play through.

I beat the game in December last year.

The problem i had first time I played it was that i was not aware you can suck blood from other vampires. you could not do that in Bloodlines and you were told that vampires do not do that unless they are from Sabbath. that really made the game incredibly difficult as i had to relay on rats and potions only. it was insanely frustrating, insanely difficult. and i never even reached the end boss for the monastery.

Playing it second time, remembering Leroux comment I only had one problem. That boss in monastery. He was a pain in the ass.
Rest of the game? Pretty much a cakewalk with one difficult boss fight and few fights in which you can lose control over your character.

If you don't know where everything is, but instead have to gather all the information in game, then Fallout will be pretty lengthy. If you know where everything is, you can finish it in an hour or two.
