So I want to start using EA Origin. However, I have a few questions:

1: Can you choose your displayed username, or is the username you choose when signing up the one you'll be stuck with forever? Some jackass already took Foxhack, so.

2: Is there a list of games that can be activated on Origin using a retail key? I can't find one on Google.

3: Slightly related, I also need a Bioware account for anything to do with Mass Effect 2, right? I registered one a bit ago.

4: This is a rumor, nobody's confirmed this to me yet - but is it true that if I play a game in a region that has a "supported" localization, I'll be forced to play the game in that language no matter what? I do -not- want to play games in that butchered Spanish they translate games in. :(

Username is different to account name. Usually the account name is you e-mail address.

There's no list as such but most games from 2009 onwards will work with the exception of Bulletstorm. Games I have tried & work: Dragon Age Origins & Awakening, Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 2, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, Need for Speed Undercover, Need for Speed Shift, Shift 2 Unleashed, Burnout: Paradise, Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, Command & Conquer 4, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Medal of Honor, Crysis 2, Dead Space & Dead Space 2.

Bioware account is now the same as an EA/Origin account, they were merged a few months back. When I wanted to change my registered e-mail address EA support changed it across the board including Bioware and EA Online.

There is no region restriction on Origin. However some keys will only unlock certain languages. It will tell you which languages are available when you enter the key and you can choose which one to install.

So apparently my Bioware account is my EA account now.

Anyway, I tried using it to log on to EA's site and they say I don't have a master ID. So I try to use Foxhack - and it's already been taken.

Irritating. :(

Did you try resetting the password? It's possible that it has reserved that name for you (or you made it but don't remember).

It wasn't me. I never registered with EA before or after I started to use this name.

I tried using the "Recover password" feature and I didn't get any message on my three main accounts (Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail).Probably the same asshole Chinese spammer that took the name on eBay and Wordpress.

lolx :D btw i think any game , which has a digital download option can be activated but for some you would have to contact support with proof saying that you love origin and your dvd is broken :D
