This game looks like it's going to be pretty friggin' sweet.
Developer's blog states they have decided on a five dollar price point but they still
don't have a release date or distributor planned yet.



A similar effort, 'Desktop Dungeons', now has a 3 day trial demo http://www.desktopdungeons.net/

Vanilla will be sold for $10 but the Special Edition includes more content will be priced
at $20.

That does look pretty awesome. I've always been interested in rogue-like games.

Holy Crap!

When I first saw you saying "Desktop Dungeons" and saying it had a price I freaked out thinking the copy I had must be some ungodly illegal hack or something, until I visited the site. Then I had a completely different Holy Crap moment when I realized I was now committed to paying money for a game I had been happily playing for free for months.

I had no idea about this, and you are awesome for letting me know about it.

I have the free copy as well - the developer was giving the game away for free while it was still in its alpha stages. =)

As you can see it's turned into a full quality production.

The Special Edition is more of a "support the dev's edition". The extra content in it is a joke class and the building that's associated with it. (Every class needs a building built before you can play that class).

Basically this, although I still wish I had known about it before hand so that I could have paid the $75 for the ultra cool special edition. I've sunk so many hours into Desktop Dungeons that it would be cool to be a part of the game in some small way.

I'm looking forward to this game. At $5, it's a steal.

I love DCSS, too. I was late to the roguelike party and have tried a lot of them, and that is the only one I play regularly.

I like the look - except for the character which looks dreadful to be honest - it doesn't work for me and puts me off a bit.

Same here, by the time I found out about it, the ultra cool be part of the game edition was already sold out. :(
