I hated it when I first tryed it, but now I am addicted. It is a great fun game. The content updates are worth their money imo. Considering no big publisher is backing them (is there?) I'm happy to "provide funding as we go".

the Steam Holiday Sale challenge was fun as hell. two random lvl 70 players volunteered to help me (lvl 20ish) and another lower lvl player get through it. it was crazy.

i don't play it often but i always like to go back to it every once in a while. i'll pick up any DLC i don't have yet when it's on sale.

I disagree there. The barbarian is basically a direct copy of the squire with a new skin, a second weapon added and the towers replaced by abilities.
I can not talk about the graphic, since my skill with art is lower than that of a dead goat, but the programming related change does by no means justify 3€ if one assumes that the base game used object oriented programming (and if it did not, then they are to blame :)).
Balancing the barbarian shouldn't justify that either.
Had they included the Series EV, the Summoner and the Jester, I'd have said, fine, a bit expansive, but hey, I don't know how many of these they sell, so, the artist might need to be feed.
Had they included new weapons and familiars(pets) together with really innovative game changing new abilities, I could have understood as well.


I don't mind providing funds as we go, but they are pushing it a wee bit far.

It's not like any of us paid the full price for (most of) those ;-). Considering the 54h I've got clocked on that game, I'm happy. Oh, and I thought the new chars were cheaper (1€ each).

And with the DLC Preorder you got the latest DLC (not the Babarian) for free.

I have all DLC for this Game and I think I spent a max of 20$ for everything (including the game itself)

Well, other games go on discount as well, so it's only fair if you compare the full price :p

You could get a few of the DLC for free if you had the right timing (Halloween, Christmas,...), but if they would be fair, they'd leave the DLC free of charge.

not at all, friend. i'm only missing the Eternia Shards, Assault Mission and Barbarian Hero DLCs. EUR 9.- with a 66% or 75% discount, it'll be EUR 3.- or less. peanuts.

the rest of the currently available DLC i got either for free (Christmas DLC, for example) or at 75% off during a sale.

Alone is 12 € (you need the pre-order DLC for Nightmare) and won't go on more than 30-33% off sale for a few month.

Barbarian, Jester, Series EV, Summoner is going to be 12€ as well (and should be released till around April).

Which means around 12€ total at maximum discount ;p
And that doesn't include the President's Day, the Cupid, the Assault, the... maps ;)

I mean $... I got everything for free with the right timings or discounted ;)
