I've posted this once in the official Duke series boards, but I figured I'd get a better response if I posted it here in GD. Basically, the problem is that I downloaded a whole mess of packs and add-ons for Duke3D, and I want to create a single, unified folder in which I can just open the EDuke32 executable, choose with campaign/GRP (vanilla/Atomic, DC, Life's a Beach, WGRealms, etc) I want to play, and play it with all the advantages of the HRP, if there's an HRP pack to support the given campaign. What I need help with is creating a step-by-step, ordered list of which files to install/unzip first, and where.

I've attached a screencap of the folder where I'm holding all the installation executables and .ZIPs before I start installing/unzipping them. Here's a list of brief descriptions of each file.

1) Ignore: This folder is the un-zipped version of #6
2) Latest version of WGRealms 2: Siege Breaker. Apparently it's standalone, but can be used with HRP/EDuke32
3) HRP 4.0 from duke4.net
4) Duke It Out In D.C. GRP file. For use with EDuke32
5) D.C. HRP pack, for use with #4
6) Latest DukePlus pack
7) Latest version of EDuke32
8) Music from the PlayStation version of DN3D, in ogg format. More info here.
9) Updates HRP from duke4.net to v4.1.1
10) Map hacks to go along with #9. I'm pretty sure #9 already includes these hacks, but I want to install these from this file just in case.
11) Nuclear Winter GRP file.
12) HRP pack for Nuclear Winter
13) Ignore: I know what this is and how to use it ;)
14) Duke Caribbean: Life's a Beach GRP file.
15) HRP for above.
16) Complete WGRealms 1 pack. As far as I know, this is NOT standalone, and must be used in conjunction with either a DN3D 1.3d GRP file or Atomic GRP file.
17) Bewbs. For use with HRP from duke4.net.

I really didn't count on being so overwhelmed by the amount of files to sort and folders to create. I'd thought something as simple as an older DOS game would be easier to sort out add-on packs for. If more information is needed, just ask.

Go to duke4.net and check the forums. There's info there to runnign as you want.

EDIT: Unzip eduke32 into it's own folder....in there put the dukeplus folder, and create an autoload folder in the eduke folder as well. Dump all the hrp zips/rars directly into that autoload folder without opening them. Anything ion the autoload folder will run auto matically when you start eduke32

So like this:

EDUKE32(leave grp files for nwinter/vacation/main game in this top level folder)
------------------autoload(put hrps in here for main game/nwinter/dc/vacation/xxx pack/music pack)
-----------------dukeplus

EDIT2: Also the newest eduke32 is out now, http://dukeworld.duke4.net/eduke32/synthesis/

Thanks, didn't wanna go to duke4.net. Everyone's mean over there. They expect you to be a Build-fu master before you even register an account.

I know what you mean...they make some nice stuff, but they are very strict as far as their forum goes.

After you setup all the files as such(with the NEW eduke32 I might add for better funtionality and stability), make sure all files are in the right places:

Eduke 32folder with latest eduke32, and in it:

All grp files for the games
Dukeplus folder(2.15 just came out btw http://deeperthought.dukertcm.com/dp/)

Autoload folder with main hrp (4.0)zipfile, hrpupdate 4.1.1 zip, and eduke music hrp zip, and xxx pack zipfile in it, maphacks reloaded 4.1.1 zip, vacation hrp zip, dc hrp zip, nwinter hrp zip all inside it unopened.....the game will autoload what it needs from this folder even if the files are still zipped.

Then just setup the eduke32 program and select grpahics settings and what game to run and run it. The polymer tickbox(btw) is the new engine they're working in.....keep it unticked at first, and test it out later to see if you like it over the normal(polymost) engine.....polymer is a bit darker btw but has better lighting in some cases, but it's still being converted(using all the polymost resources) and is in beta
You know, I don't think it even matters now. Apparently I'm up against the same error caused by an incompatibility with the Polymer renderer and ATi's latest drivers (which of course eDuke32's devs blames completely on ATi, because they're a big bad corp). The only way I can remove the new drivers at this point is to field strip my HD, and apply cardiac defibrillators directly to the actual disc that's inside. Windows Rot has set in that badly. I can only go forward as far as drivers are concerned, so unless ATi/AMD makes a concerted effort with the eDuke32 guys to fix this issue, I'm outta luck.

Disable polymer then, by running in the old polymost mode.....untick the polymer box when you start up eduke32, then run the game
