Roman5: just get the ultimate edition

it has all the DLC on disk and it costs almost the same as the regular game now

enjoy

cogadh: As I have already said, I already have the game and I'm almost finished with a vanilla playthrough (seriously, does anyone actually read before posting anymore?). I'm certainly not going to buy the game again just to get all the DLC, especially when clearly not all of it is even worth getting in the first place.
Awakenings will cost you around $20.00. For an extra $10.00 you can get the Ultimate Edition with everything and if you buy it used maybe only an extra $5 or $6. It may be well worth it to buy the Ultimate Edition even if some of the DLC isn't worth it. I have them all and Like Awakenings, Stone Prisoner, Warden's Keep, and Return to Ostegar.

Awakenings alone is $40 and I just bought the original game a week ago for $30. The Ultimate Edition is not available for cheaper than $60 in my area, so to buy the Ultimate Edition and Awakenings would cost me an additional $100, making my total purchase $130. I could just buy the few DLCs I want for an additional $20 or so making my total purchase (with Awakenings) $90. How is re-buying the entire game as part of the Ultimate Edition worth it at all?

I think people are overlooking the fact you're on a PS3. The deal Lou suggested is available on PC, but not PS3 as far as I'm aware. Hopefully the codes Robobrien's sending you will set you up with the Stone Prisoner and you'll only have to cough up for one or two more.

Where do you buy your games as you are being totally ripped off:

Dragon Age Ultimate Edition PS3 - Gamestop $29.99 New - Contains Awakenings
Dragon Age Ultimate Edition PS3 - Gamestop $26.99 Used - Contains Awakenings
Awakenings PS3 - Gamestop $19.99 Used

The Ultimate Edition includes Awakenings and All Nine Content Packs - Extend your adventure with The Stone Prisoner, Warden's Keep, Return to Ostagar, Feastday Gifts, The Darkspawn Chronicles, Feastday Pranks, Leiana's Song, The Golems of Amgarrak, and more as you delve deeper into the Dragon Age storyline.

I could buy them for you and ship them to you for less than what you are paying.

I refuse on principle to shop at Gamestop anymore, no matter what deals they may have and there is absolutely no way I would buy anything used from them ever again (I stopped buying used crap from them long before stopped shopping there altogether). Besides, that price you are quoting is the online only price, in-store it is still $60 (I just checked) and if I were to re-buy it, it would not be a "wait 3-7 business days to play it" purchase. However, I did not realize that the Ultimate Edition included Awakenings, so now it might make more sense to buy the Ultimate Edition... from someone other than Gamestop and if I could fid it at a comparable price.

cogadh: I am fast approaching the completion of my first playthrough of DA:O on my PS3 and I'm looking at all the available DLC to extend the replayability. Getting Awakenings seems to be a no-brainer, but what about the rest of the DLC? Is any of it truly great or truly awful?
I have only heard good things about Lelianna's I think, of the rest of it I think the one with the stash space is most popular.

If this helps you can take a read around here:

Just checked Amazon (link) and the Ultimate Edition for the PS3 can be had for $28. You'll have to wait a few days for delivery, of course, but grabbing the Ultimate Edition at this price will be far cheaper than trying to grab Awakening and the various DLCs piecemeal.

You are certainly allowed to stand on principle you should maybe say so as I would not have tried to explain the cost savings - If that is the case then you should look at getting Awakenings, Stone Prisoner, Warden's Keep, and Return to Ostegar which most are suggesting. I stopped at Gamestop on the way home from work tonight and those prices are not online only they were all priced as above in the store here. Not sure where you live but I think you are either wrong or your Gamestop is ripping you off on the price.

PS - Your local Walmart should have the Ultimate Edition for PS3 - I am showing 2 local stores here for $27.99

I've gotten outstanding service and politeness from Gamestop the few times I've visited in the last two years or so. Apparently they're either not all the same or people make mountains out of the molehill of a single bad experience (not saying which it is, I don't know, just know I've had good service there).
I haven't played any of them. But I'd suggest the Darkspawn one.
I think it needs to be asked - what country are you in? Realize that when people see dollar signs, most will typically think American dollars. $60 American for DA:O Ultimate would be a huge rip-off (I bought mine for $30), but $60 Australian would make more sense.

If you are in America then you need to call the BBB on that GS selling DA:O Ultimate for $60, as that is some serious price gouging.

EDIT: I'm not used to forums that tell you what country a post was made from. Disregard.

When I reinstall Origins the only DLC I use is Shale and the Warden's Keep.

I have yet to un-install it ;-) Seriously - have you played return to Ostegar? I know its not the best but to me is very relevant to the storyline.
Any way you could switch to PC version? I tried on the PS3, and then on the PC, and the switch was awesome. The top-down camera alone is great, and pausing is a bit more friendly. And with the "Ultimate" PC version, there's a disc-check only for the OC, and the on-disk DLC can be enabled just be some simple editing of an XML file (on-line activation required can be circumvented).

If computer is too old, I am sorry.

Yes, I'm so happy I'm stuck with the XBox 360 version so I could get a shittier experience (I hated DA:O and it seems the ones who liked it played it on PC). I sure am glad I bought it at release. It's the main reason I didn't buy DA2 in fact, though with the fan reaction after launch it seems there were other good reasons to not buy it.

Ah well, I've got a crap ton of mediocre to pretty good games to get through before Batman AC comes out. Back to them!
