Hello.

First off, I love your site, I love what you have done and I support and salute you for bringing us the best of retro PC gaming.

Here's my issue.

I recently bought Commandos 2 + 3.
The problem I have is that I would like to download *ONLY* say Commandos 2.
The reason for this is that I am on a very slow connection currently and I would really rather prefer downloading the game seperate from the pack for now.
Why can't I download the game seperately?

I just bought commando 1 + Mission Pack but I am only interested in Commandos 1 for now.

My suggestion to your awesome site, make it possible for us customers to chose the game seperately off the download pack so that we can chose how much we can download.
Us users with either download caps or limitations will have greater possibility to access your games.

I love yoru site and I will continue to support you and your cause.
Cheers.

Hello Marty

welcome to gog and the forums

I understand your questions and as far as I'm aware: this is up to the publishers to decide how they want to sell their games and if they want to fit in the 6 or 10 dollar price range

Yes.. I think you didn't actually read his post.
He doesn't care that he bought both games in a pack, he just wants to download them separately.
Why should he have to download both Commando's 1 and Commando's 2 (for example) if he just wants to play part 1 right now?
It's a concern for people in countries with crap internet connections.
Yes.
My issue isn't that the games are being sold in one package.
I love the fact that I can buy both games for less than 5 dollars.

My issue is that once I bought the games; I should be able to download the games seperately.
They are many reason why people would want this, not enough disc space, slow connection, bandiwidth caps or maybe we just want to install the first game and finish it before moving on to the second one.

In your position I would raise this with GOG directly rather than on the forums, It is true that GOG staff lurk in here from time to time but for a more direct answer Id email them. If I am remembering right the address is "users@gog.com" (no qoutes) in my experience they get back to you pretty fast but with this being the first they're probly off today.

Edit: Oh yeah Welcome to the site and forums

ah I see now

yeah, that is a very good point, it's not personally a problem for me but I certainly understand how it might be an issue for some people
Honestly, most of the games that come in packs aren't that big.

And if you are going to argue the bandwidth issue: You'll save pipe-power in the long-run. With the bundle, the installer (and DOSBox, if applicable) only need to be downloaded once, rather than twice.

My connection isn't too fast either (lowest costing "hi-speed" available...gotta watch the dollars & cents these days). So what I do for large downloads is to start them when I go to bed for the night. That way, it downloads while I'm sleeping & the bandwidth doesn't get eaten up while I or my wife are websurfing.
