comradegarry: Okay so does dosbox have to do with the GPU any?

F4LL0UT: I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure that the performance is almost fully determined by the CPU. As far as I can tell the GPU only comes into play when the final image is actually drawn to the screen which to my understanding is a rather trivial task (these days even including scaling). The exception would be Glide games run through the Glide wrapper but I think even those should work just fine on an integrated GPU these days, at least at a lower resolution without AA or something.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, though, people.
Thanks, that makes sense! :)
i don't think gpu matters much to dos box , i used to run a Celeron 433 mhz aka p2 , it did not have any gpu just the built in accelerator on intel 810 chipset.

The funny thing was dos box would run horribly but the games themselves would run fine in dos mode . Had no issues with any of the dos tomb raider games . Max Payne 1 was the last modern game i tried and it worked fine except for long loading times , gta 3 was the final test it could not handle gta 3.
