Well, I've downloaded Zork Nemesis, but it doesn't display the visual in the Doxbox fullscreen modeI'm on a Dell PC running Windows 7. The driver is listed as a Intel(R) HD Graphics Family... not sure what other info might be needed to diagnose this, but if someone can take a stab at it, I can happily resume my nostalia for being eaten by Grues.

Thanks!

This might sound like a dumb question, but I've been drinking a lot so I'm gonna ask: Have you tried pressing alt+enter ?

Yup. I can toggle fullscreen on and off. But when it's in fullscreen, all is dark. It is as if I am about to be eaten by a grue.

+1 for the joke. Hmm, it's possible it's running in one of the modes like 320x200 or 640x400. Plenty of new graphics cards and monitors don't support those by default (or at all if you're unlucky).

Have you tried putting aspect ratio correction on in the .conf file? (change aspect=false to aspect=true) That should correct them to the more commonly supported resolutions of 320x240 and 640x480. Also, while you're at it change fullresolution to 0x0.

Try changing the render, go to your start menu and go to the GOG.com folder and then Zork Nemesis there you should see a little thing marked "Graphic mode setup" click on that from their you should be able to change what graphic mode Dosbox will use just keep trying the options till you either find one that works or you run out of options.

But it would be using that renderer in windowed mode too, and he said it was working in windowed mode...

yeah but I had ran into similar issues where a game would show up in window mode but wouldn't in fullscreen on some renders/graphic mode

Ah - yes, that did the trick. At least one of the other modes works anyway. Thanks!

@SirPrimalform - I couldn't find the .conf file. I'd like to give it a try, but there didn't seem to be a folder containing it in the GOG folder of my start menu...

No, it's not in the start menu, it's inside the actual folder you installed the game to. Not really relevant any more if DCT's thing worked though, have fun!

EDIT: Don't forget to give DCT the solution credit!

Done. Thanks. While we're at it, do you know of any way to slow the scroll speed? Both mouse and arrow keys spin the view very quickly.

I've never actually played this game so I'm afraid I have no idea, I just know how to configure DOSBox. Maybe lowering the mouse sensitivity in DOSBox might help though? It's another parameter in the .conf file in the game directory.
