Anyone have this i have a quick question.

How do you launch the game? is it a shortcut to Doome.exe with a - argument that loads the exp or is it a file like d3roe.exe inside the /doom3/ or /d3xp/ folder.

i ask because i bought the ID bundle and since i can manually install patch 1.3.1 and get the widescreen glitches fixed it'll overweite my main doom 3 exe and gice me the NOCD from ID software but i have no way to launch Resurrection of Evil now outside of steam. which is also DRM free now since patch 1.2 from ID

The steam game came with only the doom3.exe in the parent directory which was replaced by the 1.3.1 patch and the editor was added via the patch aswell.

D3RoE exe in game's d3xp folder or run Doom3 and click mods/etc button and select and run Roe "mod". Also afaik when you patch the game it's best to install RoE first then patch so both get patched....and I also think there is a 1.31 version RoE crack as well that you can apply after you install the game and expansion & then patch first.

It's a shortcut and a command line argument.

doom3 +set fs_game d3xp

mod selection worked like a champ thank you... also if anyone wants some memory tweaks to get it running good on modern hardware i have a quick config list handy. the game was created when memory was precious

I set multisamples to the highest level and also AA and such. makes it look awesome.

You can also add +disconnect to the shortcut arguments to automatically skip the id logo.

Not that i miss the heart beat but it gets old after awhile, i bet that works on quake 4 as well gotta try it! :) If i didnt get that awesome ID pack though steam i was going to GG doom3 and ROE ive wanted to play them forever.... but to get them and commander keen with all the heritic hexen and doom games i could not pass that up...

oh and wolfenstien was there too for old time sake :]

Yep, it works for Quake 4 and just about any id Tech 4 game that has an annoying logo startup.
