I find the irony of questioning their legality after intentionally breaking their T&Cs with a fake Facebook account...interesting.

SirPrimalform: Wow, they made it suck even more? I stopped using it after the "limited number of plays" bullshit.
i think the "limited number of plays" was a good move. First the make a great service that is free (with annoying commercials) for a while and then they limit it so that you have a choice whether you want to pay for the same service (actually a better service) or continue to use a free albeit limited version.

How would you want the artists to make money anyway, if it was kept as it was? Or do you just think that artists should give away their work for free?

clarky85: perfectly legal, they make tehre money from either your subscription or adverts, did enjoy it but got rid of it after finding the catalouge on there was in ways limited and that most modern msic tends to be awful at best
The popular music that is played on the radio and TV is horrible, but if you have any interest in music it is very easy to find very good music made today. The internet has made this extremely easy. What kind of music did you like in the past?

It wasn't a good move as I would never have paid for a premium account and as such, making the changes they did changed me from a small source of revenue into a non-customer.

The artists weren't giving their work away for free. Spotify licenced it from them and paid for the licencing using money from 1) premium accounts and 2) advertising. Free accounts were subsidised by the adverts, same as a commercial radio station.

xaemar: We must not listen to the same music then... Yes, music was good in the 70s, classical music was good, but there are still a lot of good music if not more these days. The difference, comparing to before, is that good music doesn't play on radio anymore and we must look deeper to find gems. It is the same way for video games in my opinion...
Oh, I don't know, Muse and Kasabian get radio play and I like those - I mainly like Kasabian because they sound exactly like the 'Madchester' bands rfom the early 90's, though, so its not like they're progressing things much or anything...

When I first read the thread title, I immediately guessed this would be a Robert Titus thread. BTW Rob fake facebook accounts are totally against their terms of service so you better deactivate it right away!
