The 2kgames site, states that Civilization IV Complete is DRM free, http://www.2kgames.com/civ4/complete/.

But the digital versions I found don´t really seem to be DRM free like that of Games for Windows. EDIT: Correction: The games for windows digital version IS NOT DRM -free.

I´m hoping to get this game on a deal but wanna make sure it´s DRM free.

Retail version is DRM free. You can easily copy the contents from the disc to your hdd. :)

Actually just patch it to the latest version and you won't need the disc to play.
I would get the retail version if I lived in the US.

To get retail I´ll have have to pay shipping costs, plus the annoyance in waiting several weeks for the game to arrive.

Thats why I prefer digital form.

You forgot to mention the horrible taxes you guys are stuck with. :p
One benefit of buying retail games is being able to (most of the time) get a refund if anything goes wrong. I bought Batman Arkham Asylum on Steam. C++ Error halfway through the game. Hours of fixing attempts didn't help.

What I meant was, he can easily copy the installation files on his hdd, and then forget the disc. Just rar or iso them and whenever you need to install the game again, use those files to install it. It will even install faster, since it reads from the hdd, not the disc. :)

Hey, Ralackk, now you are in sync with the year! You have 2010 rep!
(And I suppose it's the only such occasion, ever, as you'll have waaay more than 2011 rep points even by 1st January.)

Now the thread can get back on-topic.
