The Pit goes on even deeper now!

Sword of the Stars: The Pit: MindGames DLC, an expansion pack adding two new playable characters, new insane-er gameplay mode, new locations, and new gameplay features to the challenging Sci-Fi roguelike, is available for only $4.99 on GOG.com.

[url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/the_pit_mindgames_dlc]Sword of the Stars: The Pit: MindGames is a shiny example of DLC that truly deserves to be called an expansion! MindGames adds so much new content and features to Sword of the Stars: The Pit, that it can significantly change the way you play the game. You get two new playable characters, one of which--the telekinetic Psion--is the reason for the pack's title. The second one is the first playable alien--the Tarka Ranger. Two new play modes are being added, one of them allows you to play indefinitely, the other--aptly called "Seriously? Mode"--delivers even higher difficulty level to the hardcore gamers that find the "Insane Mode" falling short of their masochistic expectations. There are ten new levels waiting to be explored, including the new vast biosphere environments. Even the gameplay mechanics experience an overhaul with the addition of XP and item "banking" system, allowing some boost for the starting characters. If you thought you knew The Pit, think again!

For more challenge and depth in your favorite Sci-Fi roguelike, grab Sword of the Stars: The Pit: MindGames DLC on GOG.com for only $4.99. You know you need it!

NOTE:
This version of the DLC works exclusively with the GOG.com DRM-free Sword of the Stars: The Pit game.

Ophelium: I picked up SotS in one of the summer sale bundles. I wasn't really interested in the game, I just bought it to get the special price for Costume Quest, but I booted it last night and played for 6 hours straight (minor pauses for those pesky bodily needs). Now, I'm considering getting this expansion/DLC, regardless of it being on sale or not. If this has the same quality as the main game, I don't see a reason not to. In the meantime, I gotta find some armor for my scout.

JudasIscariot: I don't know how good you are in the original game but I have noticed that on Normal, my Rangers and Psions keep dying around floor 5-6. Some of that I can attribute to Ghost Makers (they look like spiders made out of brains O_o ) who just LOVE to slap on poison level 5 and then run away while singing "Trololololo!". Meanwhile, I am trying to walk off the poison but that ain't happening :D.
That sounds horrifying. I've been irresponsible enough that I really must wait to spend the 5$, but normal is hard enough. Now I think I'm a little afraid it may end up being too hard to enjoy. I'll get it anyway, but I have my first concern.

My problems pretty much stem from acid in my inventory and lots of bullets being fired at me.

Base Paste, if you survive long enough to make it, actually helps with the acid not the bullets, though :D

Well, the scout hasn't turned up much in the way of helpful recipes...I stumbled on some armor though and I'm relying on my auto-pistol (dang laser sword broke). Anyway, you sold me on the expansion/DLC, Judas :D Hopefully, that helps my inventory woes.
