StingingVelvet: Yeah, makes sense. Read up on the changes DKS made though, you might either not care or actively want to avoid them.

chautemoc: I thought everyone agreed they made the game infinitely better?
Does everyone ever agree on anything?

From what I have read the DKS changes make the game a lot easier and streamlined, which isn't really something I want. The changes to the dragon parts sound nice, but considering I keep reading on their forum that with DKS you can slaughter every enemy in the game without a care in the world... well, doesn't sound worth the it to me.

They were probably playing on Normal. Hard is good, and they added a Nightmare difficulty.

Well I don't want to play on hard where they probably just inflate the enemy health bars, I want normal to be challenging yet reasonable. In Ego Draconis it is, in DKS I hear it is a cake-walk.
Thanks so much to all of you as the advice has been very helpful. I wish I could mark all the posts as the answer but I can't. I have decided to start the game now and get the add on when I can find it cheap and not through steam. I may buy the Boxed DKS in the future to keep the collection complete and if there are any generous German folks out there a boxed version of FOV would make a great addition to my collection. Thanks again - Lou.

I played Hard and it felt challenging yet reasonable, and I love hard games.
Been having a blast with this game over the last week - and D2D decides to put FOV on Sale this weekend - How cool is that. Downloading as I write.
