I've always wondered though: is there a way to clean the dust off the sensitive parts, like the circuit boards?

I use a tiny little computer vacuum I bought ages (as in a decade plus) ago - still kicking!

I'm embarrassed to admit that I cracked open my case once and could have been on this list (I didn't look at the pictures, but my computer was so disgustingly clogged with dust I can't imagine much worse!).

I've had to clean a lot of disgusting computers out. From my experience the smoker's computers are usually the most disgusting. Followed by pet owners.

Hey at least most of those people still put the box on the floor, I will never be able to tolerate people who put it on top of the desk/whatever.

Well I'm a smoker but what Iv'e just seen was absolutely putred.How can people live like that?Have those persons no shame?

That is revolting. It makes me feel good when I don't clean the pc for 5/6 months. It has never looked this bad, nowhere near it.

Most of those "worst pc setups" are temporary and/or not that bad.

even at the worst my 'puters have never been as bad as these, & I live where it's dusty & I can't open the tower myself so it can be a while between PC (physical) blow dusting/cleaning

Yes, those were pretty bad. There are still plenty of people who don't realize that opening their desktop and cleaning out its dust every so often is a highly necessary bit of maintenance
