oldschool: R.I.P. I have just one question, why do people who have everything to live for kill themselves? I just will never fully understand it.
Maybe he was clinically (chemically) depressed, who knows.

anjohl: Not to be devil's advocate,e but maybe he wanted to die? 68 is old enough isn't it? I hate how it's apparently *never* ok to decide not to exist anymore.
Normally I would agree with this sentiment, I believe one should be in control of their own end. However, he had small children, which if nothing else, should have dictated his timing.

SimonG: I love his movies. All those artsy fartsy movies that get the "critical acclaim" and "intellectual praise" can scrub my backside.

When I go to the movies I want to see something like this. And not some Anime rip-off about a whacky ballerina.

"Last Boy Scout" isn't just a movie. It's a way of life!
You know it's not an either or proposition. There are plenty of films that get critical acclaim and intellectual praise while still being a fun experience. Just because there are movies for which that isn't the case doesn't mean that there aren't some that do.

Mental issues perhaps... I sometimes suspect bad medical diagnoses in cases like these, I know I'd rather go quick than to some of the types of cancers and other ailments out there.

"I will dance an Irish jig if we get out of this alive."

Epic. I'm probably mangling the quote... but epic!
