carnival73: Been a good fifteen to twenty hours now and there's some downloading issues going on with Desura's servers and client.

They've set up an alternate site where you can pull your games DRM free if you need too while they're troubleshooting.

Just thought I'd make mention for the few others here who may have been getting ready to do a format and re-install.

Magnus: Really? I was able to download Towns and Ensign 1 fine today through it. Weird.

SirPrimalform: It was acting up for me yesterday but seems to have been fine all today for me. I'm not sure if they've actually set up that alternative site for this, being able to download the games standalone has been a feature for a while.

EDIT: Yeah, the page they're linking to has existed for ages.

Barefoot_Monkey: I was also having download problems on Sunday. Downloading standalone installers from the website still worked though.

I tried running "Desura (forced update)" to update the client - it ended up being the same version except that now downloads work. I don't know why - maybe it'll work for you too.

Interestingly, Steam is causing far more grief for me today. It wouldn't let me log in for hours (see the attachment) - naturally, offline mode ceased to exist as well. Now the download servers are apparently all busy so I can at least play but can't download anything. Oh well, it's not a huge inconvenience.

It's just an awkward week for game services in general, I guess.

Neobr10: I'm getting problems with downloads too. I guess they're getting hammered by the release of the CS:GO Beta for those who pre-ordered. I can't download CS:GO myself, i'll wait a few hours.
