Does this site not offer demos? I tried to download, assuming I would be able to demo a game before buying and it just wanted my payment info. Why would anyone buy a game sight unseen?

Very simple. These are classic games. And gog makes them playable for windows 7 and all or systems. Not every classic had a demo. And if they had demos it would cost gog alot of many to make all those demos work. And it's 5 dollar or 10 so the games come cheap.

If the games had demos in the first place, you should be able to find them on google. However, I do wish that GoG could provide demos of their versions, just so I know if it'll work on my machine or not (I realize why they don't, but I still wish they did :3)

Life is imperfect, and having to get demos working for our games would definitely prevent us from being able to bring you games to play. I think that, overall, the GOG community would rather a new game than a demo for one that's already for sale. ;)

We'd rather you took that time to pistol whip publishers into submission. Or try on new hats.
