since people are saying how they discovered GoG...

I remember reading about GoG like....almost a year ago...

at that time I just ignroed it for some reason and it seemed to me like one of those "wannabe" websites in the beggining that will be forgotten and closed down

Fortunately though GoG has been slowly winning me over and gradually over time I became more and more interested in it considering that great new games were added all the time

the relaunch and the release of Baldur's gate REALLY got me interested and the "community favourites" promotion just sealed the deal for me

I immediately created an account and bought Duke nukem 3D, Myst and The longest journey and buy at least 1 new game each week depending on promotions :)

KiPhish: Within 10 min of reading that I bought Freespace 2. I own a mac also and I'm an avid fan of flight simulators. I'm seriously going to ease my spending right about now haha.
With the FS2_Open engine (which I'm sure has been ported on MacOS) and the huge amount of user-made campaigns released for it, FS2 alone can keep you busy for hundreds of hours. No need to spend any more money here, but I know it's really tempting : the gameplay value of a dollar here on GOG is simply amazing.

For FS2 campaigns, I suggest playing FSport (basically, FS1 in FS2_Open engine), Silent Threat Reborn, and both Blue Planet episodes released so far. All these campaigns are as good as the main FS2 campaign, if not better.
Welcome!

It's not so much a matter of what's missing about current gen games. It's more a matter of how many of them are design by committee as opposed to design by creative genius types.

ChaunceyK: a couple of whack-a-doodles.
I don't think that's fair. Weclock hasn't posted much lately.

ChaunceyK: Good to have you here, KiPhish. You'll find many of us share your love & enthusiasm for classic gaming. We've got a really solid community with just a couple of whack-a-doodles...but what community HASN'T got a couple of those? They're entertaining, if nothing else AND they're really easy to spot. ;-)
Come now you mustn't forget about me.

Welcome KiPhish, glad to have you here. The Baldur's Gate games are indeed awesome and it disheartens me when I hear of people who haven't played these games, it's like a basic necessity! Anyway, I'll be expecting my tea soon, milk no sugar thanks.
