Well, if we would count percentages, then Kain was worse than Stalin, Mao, Hitler, etc. by killing 25 percent of humanity in a single incident...
(and he obviously did not even want to)

Sid311: Thunderscape isn't D&D.

They made the game after losing AD&D license.
I did not make the case for thunderscape being D&D, only that it was an SSI game. I very much enjoyed the game

dudalb: There are copyright issues involved with D and D games that change from company to company. GOG has the right to the D and D games from Interplay/Black Isle, but does not have the right to the earlier SSI D and D games,

ANd if the guy with the Stalin Avatar is looking for trouble, he will find it. Hitler, Stalin, and Mao are in a neck in neck competion for the worst mass murderer of all time, and, frankly, someone using them as a avatar is either woefully ignorant of history, a over the top political nutjob, or just a troll looking for trouble.

GameRager: I'm sure most know of the atrocities these men committed, so the first answer is out....and the second one seems plausible but not very likely.

And yeah he could be a troll but maybe he just likes images of stalin for some reason(you can like images of stalin and be a collector of communist era pieces or a lover of the history or like the images and history/trivia for some other reason for example....I like stalin as a character in Red Alert, as one example, and have used pictures of the character from RA 1/2 in some sites.).

Don't be so harsh to judge one based on a few random words or an avatar image. :\
Game Rager wins an all expenses paid trip to the gulag for his excellent support of one enamoured with Russian and Soviet history and culture. I'm glad though that somebody actually made a point about Stalin being a mass murderer on rival with (or greater than) Hitler, for some reason hardly anyone seems to know or recall this. It could have something to do with Stalin's much more positive image with Russians, and or his ability to utilize propaganda far better than Hitler ever was able.

I apologize if I offend/offended anyone yet maintain my avatar and recommend insensitivity training as offense is not my intent.

The fellow who laughed out loud is my intent, I am merely being ridiculous.

I think it just comes down to who was on which side during World War 2. Until then Hitler was seen as the saviour of Germany, with all the nasty bits being swept under the rug alot like with Stalin's reign. Stalin is seen as 'necessary evil' because he was on our side, and so of course all his evil acts must've had good reasons of course (/end sarcasm) whereas Hitler was seen as just 'evil' or 'true evil' since we were fighting him. Hitler had a great propaganda team (he got voted in after all), he just had the Allies using propaganda against him.

Not to say that both of them weren't evil men who deserved any and all things said against them, they were incredibly evil, it's just that one chose the wrong side to be on. Evil acts are only necessary when those in power claim it is however...
What excellent historical and philosophical debate a topic about resurrecting some of the finest roleplaying games ever made has sparked.

I think it is rightfully so, and just shows to go you how amazing the old SSI, D&D, and Gold box games were.

So vote for them!
