Arx Fatalis keeps blue screening on me, so I finally had to just uninstall it. Just another victim of my horribly crappy computer and its onboard videocard. I swear, as soon as I get the money, I'm buying the most souped up rig I can afford.

Anyway, irrelevant ranting over.

Count yourself lucky there is a possibility you can still play it in the future. Me? I can't never play Arx Fatalis, because I get motion/simulator sickness playing it in no time at all.

The old FPS like Doom and Quake are so fast that I have this problem too. The slower FPS like this game and Oblivion, I can usually handle without too much problem.

Back when Doom 2 first came up I used to play for hours without getting sick. I guess maybe it is an age factor.

Nowadays I normally only play third-person perspective games (isometric and/or over-the-shoulder camera), and not first-person perspective, unless the movement is grid-based (which is why I look forward to the incoming Legend of Grimrock). I tried Arx Fatalis, many times. I got sick within the first 5 minutes and had to stop.

Doesn't it have to do with the FOV (field of view) ? I remember that Half-Life² and Duke Nukem Forever gave me motion sickness if I played it more than half an hour... Until the day I discovered the FOV in those games was at 75° (console-like) and when I put them at 90° (normal human vision), it was much much better, I could actually play without any motion sickness !

That said, it doesn't mean that the source of the problem in Arx Fatalis or, if it is, that you can change the FOV in that game...
