Cry of Fear is a Half Life mod I think. It's been out for a while, at least a year.

It is really good, from what I've seen on YouTube. Great city setting, atmosphere, music, themes, symbolism, etc.

Do note that it has already been out for over a year, though; it was a Half-Life 1 mod that, I believe, has now been released as its own game.

If you do play, be prepared for jumpscares, one of the worst ones being in the first 10 - 15 minutes.
It's not very good tho. It's not a very good horror game, and ... Well it's just no such a great game in general. It is an impressive piece of work for being freeware, but ... It's just not very good.

This game is on the right track of what I want from the "new" generation survival horror, first-person with combat and weapons.

Excluding fixed camara I don't like over-the-shoulder third person horror.

Fixed Camara offers horrifying angles giving it its athmosphere and First Person offers immersion.
