NoNewTaleToTell: Totally haha. I really like the career modes in the wrestling games (outside of the "do this task or you're fired...even though you're our world champion) if only because of how unpredictable they can be.
At one point my wrestler made a full million dollars (in signing bonuses) in about a month by being signed/having his contract bought by three different companies. My least favorite moment would have to be hiring a manager and having him turn on me the very next week...or being released (despite being the world champion) because the booker only allowed me to make one counter offer while resigning. Add in the match variations and some of the things that can happen during matches (you can lose limbs or worse) and you've got games that actually have more depth than wrestling games made by big developers.
By the way...I think some changes need to be made...raise your winning percentage to 85 or you'll find yourself back on the indie scene!
markrichardb: Always assumed limb loss was like a codename to a level of gore rather than literal. Are those injuries permanent? I'm imagining the bell ringing as two limbless torsos use their chins to gradually drag themselves towards each other.
Those ultimatum messages come far too often. One time after being fired from a company for failing to get a high win ratio I was then fired from wrestling school for failing to boost the strength stat up, prompting an instant game over. Hopefully that’s no longer an issue in the remix edition.
No no, you actually lose limbs (and/or eyes and ears). As far as I remember the injuries are permanent (in Hard Time you can pay someone in the medical bay to reattach limbs) in the wrestling games, and you can lose multiple limbs. You can also be paralyzed (and still wrestle! talk about heart of a champion...)...wrestlers (and referees/managers/bookers) can even die. For examples of all of the above just watch the "Radical Larry" Let's Play on Youtube, or the tribute video to that series.
The ultimatum issues are in all of the MDickie games post Wrecked from what I can tell, including Mpire Remix and Wrestling Revolution. Fun fact: Sometimes the ultimatum challenges are technically impossible to win (usually the ones dealing with gaining more popularity or raising your win percentage).
