Ok, so lets say the first day of Steam's Summer Sale begins and surprise, surprise, surprise, Sarge - all games for the first four hours are discounted 85%.

You run through like a Cabbage Patch Kid fan in a 80's Toys R Us shopping spree and just as you're at the checkout...

....zzzzzzttttttt

Steam goes down.

Five minutes later you hear the news that some extremist named Slami Dosami skydived Valve offices while strapped to a megaton bomb sending smart-assed forum mods and tech support agents all tither and yon.

Estimated time to clean up all of the man-bras and nerd glasses is about five years before Valve can fully operate again.

How many people out there do you think would just stop getting out of bed each morning?

Slami Dosami sounds like a tasty Middle Eastern treat.
85% sale. I couldn't care less. I would need a 100% sale to be able to afford.

Steam goes down. No biggy. Of all the games I have, only 10% are Steam bought or Steam dependant.

Steam office kaboom. No problem. It's not like they were planing to release Ep3 or HL3 in the near future.

Bed uping. People tend to be nuts about these things, so I'm guessing a lot. If only that happens, that's no issue at all, because the expactations in such event would be increased mortion working hours.
The Slami Dosami would be a true martyr. Without Steam, my backlog would be cut in half. ;)
