Steam is now offeriing Cossacks:Back to War for download.
As a big fan of the Cossacks games, this might be a good sign. The original Cossack games have always been on the top of my "GOG wish list" and hopefully they can bring the whole Cossack Trilogy "Cossacks:European War" "Cossacks:The Art of War" and "Cossacks:Back to war" to GOG now that it is clear the makers are willing to sell their games for download. Why "Back to War" only was chosen I don't know, but I am now hopeful that we will see the games on GOG.
I noticed this as well. Holding out for a possible GOG release for now. This is prime GOG content so I hope they can work something out.

"Back to war" includes both European War and The Art of War
I remember these titles garnering a lot of acclaim when they were released, but I never got around to buying them for one reason or another. I'd definitely be interested in buying them through GOG, so fingers crossed.
Cossacks 2 still has my favorite implementation of muskets ever. Was REALLY fun to time the volleys for maximum damage.
Shame the RTS portion of it sucked. And the Starforce was kind of a killer.

That does include the base game and expansions, it's in the description. $4.99 is a damn great price for it. Shame, I've never found Cossacks 2 and it's expansions at retail.
I really liked Cossacks back in the day, so I am relying on GOG to buy all these with their expansions: Cossacks, Cossacks 2, Alexander, Heroes of Annihilated Empires, American Conquest.
You guys can vote for them at the wishlist, to let GOG know that you want them here:

The Descripton says it has all the Gameplay features of the first two Cossack games. It does not say it has all the content. I have bought the Steam version and it does not have ANY of the Campaigns or Scenarios for the first two. Which sucks, because Cossacks:Back to War does not have any campaigns except for a Turorial.
I always like the game because it is one of the very few computer games to focus a lot on the 1600's...in fact Europa Universalis is about the only other game that covers this period in depth.

Really? Didn't knew this. I own E.U. but haven't touched it yet.
It's a shame that the Steam version isn't complete, I was hoping for GOG to release it on tuesday or thursday but it didn't happened... Hope that it arrives soon, and Cossacks 2 shortly after. Both with all the expansions, of course.

DotEmu (based in France) has all of the Cossacks series (both the original and Cossacks 2), with all expansion packs, and the American Conquest series (with all expansions) for sale now for about € 15.

Sorry GOG, I would have happily bought them from you, but I've been dying for this for years, so I could not wait longer.

It's on dotemu as well, DRM free.
GOG's staff has admitted being on vacation unti 3rd January as to new releases. Be patient, Cossacks might be the next addition to the catalogue.

Well, on the other hand, Broken Sword Director's Cut took a long time to arrive here. Wait and see...

Well, not all, since they are currently missing the American Conquest: Divided Nation expansion. I've e-mailed dotemu about this missing expansion, still waiting a reply. Still it's a great deal, 7 games for $15. I hate the idea of GOG having these games already, and holding their release for months...

Recently I've posted about this here, by the way: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/cossacks_and_american_conquest_series

Simple as that...

Simple as GOG left people waiting for one or two months to release the third game of the Age of Wonders series, while Impulse and Steam released all three on day one. That, was disappointing.
That looks awesome. I want a copy now...
